  • 2. Whos the social group? The social group for my magazine is for both male and females of any ethnicity and from 16-25, although because of images and certain wording of text in my magazine, there is a biased towards females of white ethnicity. There is no social class for my readers as my target audience starts from 16 years old and from that age and onwards its very unlikely they have their own social class. They therefore have the same social class of their parents and are dependent on what class their parents are in. Although, they are classed as aspirers. These type of people aspire to be successful and important/popular when they are older and have a career. On the next slides I will be comparing my magazines music artist to another RnB magazines music artist.
  • 3. Comparison between RAPUP RnB magazine and my magazine RIDDIM I will be comparing Teyana Taylor from RapUp magazine and Taylor from Riddim magazine.
  • 4.
    • Firstly both group members are female and in the 16-25 category as in real life Taylor, real name Soraya is 17 but in my magazine she's older and around 19, and Teyana Taylor from RapUp is 21 so my target audience is visible from both magazines.
    • The postures of both women are similar in the sense that theyre both standing up at an angle to the camera so their left arm isn't visible as its behind them because of the angle they're at, their right arm is also up gesturing towards the camera/audience, their right leg/knee is bent like their slouching and part of their stomach/midriff is showing.
    • This posture shows attitude and girl power too.

    • Their facial expressions are the same too, their serious and staring straight into the camera which keeps a line of focus and makes the reader feel connected/involved to the magazine.
    • In addition to this, both women are wearing similar costumes jeans and a t-shirt and big hooped earrings which show their laid back attitude but also their unique style. Their hair is also similar as both of them have big hair although obviously RapUps group member has an afro.

    • Both of the women I have compared are aspirers.
    • They wear fashionable clothing and a lot of jewellery which shows they want to be able to afford the finer things in life when their older.
    • They are both posing and are in positions which are dominant which shows that they care about their appearance and how they look, as well as coming across as confident and self-assured.
  • 7. Wording
    • As previously said, the wording in my magazine also shows what type of person the magazine is for.
The wording, The future of RnB also emphasizes that the social class of aspirers look towards the future. They are the future.
  • 8. Wording
    • Other wording which suggests that that target audience are aspirers are on the contents page.
    • Exclusive, Battle and Upcoming have connotations of determination. The aspirers will keep going till they get what they want.
  • 9. Wording
    • The wording in the interview on the double page spread also suggests that the audience are aspirers.
    • Exploded onto the scene, Celebrate, Has it been hard, Stand up for yourself and Role models are all questions or responses etc that emphasize that the magazine is aimed at those who want to achieve their full potential and reap the benefits.
  • 10. Overall
    • In conclusion my media product represents a particular social group of females of a white ethnicity around 16-25 years old who are known as aspirers.
    • They want to be successful and important/popular, as well as keeping up with having fashion and their appearance.
