AIESEC´s Leadership Development Model(LDM)
According to AIESEC´s Leadership Model a Leader has four qualities:
• World Citizen• Self aware• Solution oriented• Empowering others
A World Citizen is somebody who…
• Believes in his/her ability to make a difference in the world
• Is interested in World issues
• Enjoys taking responsibility • for improving the world
Empowering others means…
• Communicating effectively in diverse environment
• Developing & Empowering • other people
• Engaging with others to achieve a bigger purpose
Being Solution oriented means…
• Adapting and showing resilience in the face of challenges
• Transmitting positivity to move forward throughout uncertainty
• Taking risks when it´s needed
Being Self aware means…
• Understanding and living personal values
• Focussing on strengths over weaknesses
• Exploring one´s passions
These four elements explain what kind of Leadership AIESEC wants to develop.
AIESEC is a container that enables leadership development!
But how do we get there?
Inner & Outer Journey... Through sending people abroad and living an inner and outer journey.
Outer journey: The outer journey describes the crucial experiences in which leadership is forged and includes challenge, risk and working at the edge of the system.Inner journey: The inner journey describes how the leader learns through reflection, mentoring and practice.
For any experience in AIESEC there should be individual responsibilities and goals. Being in a challenging role & environment there is interaction with multiple stakeholders. Throughout the experience there is a support system.

It´s about setting personal goals, reflecting on your experience, understand your personal goals and reinventing yourself based on the goal-setting, the reflection and the understanding of yourself.

insecurities?• What does ambassadorship means to me?• What is my message as ambassador? • How do I deliver this message?
