Introduction
Womex has always been an important part on the international strategies for the promotion of the Catalan music industry and an excellent shop window for World Music bands from Catalonia, as well as for a great diversity of companies (management agencies, record labels, publishers, etc.) from our country. Twenty-fiveCatalancompaniesandinstitutionsare attending this edition of Womex in Las Palmas. Most of them are co-exhibitors at the Catalan Arts - Government of Catalonia stand (C44 – C51).
There are also two Catalan bands performing this year at Womex. Aurora, with its fusion offlamenco,jazzandrock,takespartattheopening concert of Womex (October 24, 20:00h, Sala Sinfónica, Auditorio Alfredo Kraus). We wouldlikealsotorecommendyoutheofficialWomex showcase that Marinah, the singer of Barcelona’s Latin Grammy-winning multi-fusion band Ojos de Brujo now with a burgeoning solo career, offers on October 26 (22:30h, Twin Stage A, Plaza de la Música). These showcases are possible thanks to the support of Catalan Arts - Government of Catalonia.

Black Music Productions is a booking agency/concert & tour promoter working with the most danceable and provocative styles of this genre: Swing, Soul, Funk, vintage Rhythm & Blues, Rock & Roll, and Doo-Wop.
