The University of Glasgow Clinical Endocrinology and Diabetes Society are proud to announce that we will be holding our first conference.

Join us for interesting talks and the opportunity to learn more about different aspects of endocrinology and diabetes. It will be an extremely useful revision tool for those sitting exams at the end of the year, as well as an excellent CV booster.

This conference is open to students from all Scottish medical schools as well as foundation year doctors. There will be four talks given by true experts of their fields, covering many interesting and important aspects of endocrinology, with the opportunity to ask questions and discussion forums. We will also be running three interactive workshops covering important and practical issues may be faced as a doctor.

It will take place on the second floor of the New Lister Building in the Glasgow Royal Infirmary, which is easily accessible from the city centre. Tea and coffee breaks as well as lunch is included in the price of the ticket which are just £5.

Teaching format and Highlights:

o Conference pitched at an appropriate level for all undergraduate medical students

o Interesting talks by renowned Clinical Endocrinologist

o Interactive workshops with stations on DKA management, Thyroid Examination and Insulin Prescribing

Very well organised, the talks were relevant and suitable for students at different levels. 2 of the workshops in the afternoon were very lecture based instead of more practical; the talks were great. The lecturers were all very engaging and the lectures were very interesting and useful as they covered common issues.

Doctors Academy is a UK-based International Non-Profit Organisation comprising of doctors, dentists and scientists that undertakes a diverse range of educational activities globally.
