Joanna Bal-

lard is a tal-

ented artist

from North-

west LA,

whose art

cannot be

put into one

category—its

virtually im-

possible! Her poetic art, storytelling skills,

digital photography, her performance—and

did I mention her writing skills?—are off the

chain.

Joanna is a member of the Shreveport

Bossier Trapped Truth Society and is one of

the founders of the West Edge Artist Co-Op.

She is also a member of the Shreveport

Writers Registry, the Northwest Louisiana

Art Gallery—just to name a few. She also

promotes the Louisiana Folk band, Henry

Turner Jr. and Flavor—whose music is just

jazzy.

Ms. Ballard began her career as a storytell-

er when she was just a child—she loved

making up her own songs and stories. She

also earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Eng-

lish with a minor in Theater Arts from

Southern Arkansas University in Mag-

nolia, AR in 1986. Her art has won

numerous awards and shows over the

years.

I want to encourage you to take a look

at Joanna’s stuff on her MySpace

page at www.myspace.com/

ballardsbytes and check out her home

page as well at http://

www.ballardsbytes.com

Quote from the artist

“Words, sound and color to me, are

exciting, and challenging in any medi-

um! I enjoy exploring and sharing my

‘stories’ in many avenues to a wide

and varied audience.

Harmony and Peace,

Joanna Ballard
