1970 Porsche 911T Targa Chassis Number: 9110110482 Engine Number: 6105632 • A wonderful matching numbers, original colour combination, 4 owner California example of Porsche’s iconic 911 design. • Benefitting from restoration in California and extensive recent service work by Prill Porsche Classics. With UK DVLA registration, a fresh MOT and accompanied by its history file including the original owners manual, maintenance records, invoices and the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity. Rediscover the love of driving with this very useable 911T Targa, whether it be on the school run or on a summer road trip through Europe. Since the company was founded in 1931 by Dr. Ferdinand Porsche, Porsche has been responsible for some of the most iconic cars of all time. Perhaps the most important of these is the Porsche 911, a design concept which has endured for more than half a century and is still successful both commercially on the road and in competition on the race track. Designed by Ferdinand Porsche’s son Ferry, the 911 was a replacement for Porsche’s 356 model and made it’s debut at the 1963 Frankfurt Motor Show. It was originally badged as the 901 and had a 128hp, 1991cc flat 6 engine in boxer configuration, which was air cooled and rear mounted and mated to a five speed manual transmission. After a mere 82 cars had been produced, a legal challenge from Peugeot concerning the car name, led Porsche to change the name to 911. The first of the upgrades to Porsche's perennial 911 came in 1966 with the introduction of the 'S' version. Easily distinguishable by its stylish Fuchs five-spoked alloy wheels, the 'S' featured a heavily revised engine producing 160bhp. In 1969, a lengthened wheelbase improved the 911's sometimes wayward handling, and then in 1970 the engine underwent the first of many enlargements, to 2.2 litres. T. + 44 (0)1285 831 488 E.

By this time the models on offer had stabilised at three: the 911T, 911E, and 911S, all of which were available as either a closed coupé or Targa convertible - a model celebrating Porsche’s Targa Florio victories with the 911 over many years. In 2.2 litre form, the 911T’s engine produced 125bhp through Weber carburettors and propelled the 911 to a top speed of 127mph.

9110110482 was manufactured during the latter part of 1969 and delivered on the 15th December 1969 by Porsche Audi, Pleasanton, California to Mr. G.F. Wieland of Beale AFB, California. Painted in the very attractive colour of Light Ivory with Targa roof and black leatherette interior, 0482 was supplied with US and Comfort equipment, along with antenna with loudspeaker and noise suppression. Fitted with engine number 6105632, the original maintenance records show the routine warranty service work as taking place during 1970, with the Targa having covered 12823 miles by it’s periodic service in August 1971.

0482 was acquired by Dave Mclaughlin of Millbrae, California in 1970 and remained with the McLaughlin family until 2013. Extensive work was commissioned with European Performance also of Millbrae, California in 1998, including a full bare metal respray in the original Light Ivory colour, new Bilstein dampers, clutch, wheel bearings and brakes to name a few parts. At this point, European Performance record 0482 as showing 74,088 miles.

In 2006, 0482 returned to European Performance once again for another service at the cost of $6,119, when it showed 81,560 miles. During the time in California, 0482 was registered as 344 ARK, and the original Californian registration plate remains with the car today.

Having been with the Mclaughlin family for 43 years, in January 2013 ownership of 0482 passed to Mr. Gregory Jahn of Buckingham, Pennsylvania and it was registered 82919 in Pennsylvania state. The advert from when Mr. Jahn bought 0482 shows the car as having covered a genuine 84,279 miles. Mr. Jahn contacted Porsche Cars North America and they provided a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity for 0482. Early in Mr. Jahn’s ownership at 84,306 miles, he had Possum Hollow Motorsports of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania carry out a full service, changing oils, control arms, tie rods, suspension bushes, ignition wires and aligning all of the wheels.

In August 2013, Mr. Jahn had detail work undertaken by Bruce Baker Enterprises of Collegeville, Pennsylvania, which included various trim areas and the refurbishment of the fuel tank. September 2013 saw Cars Inc of Bordentown, New Jersey carry out restoration of the Targa roof panel for Mr. Jahn, returning it to ‘as new’ condition.

The current owner bought 0482 from Mr. Jahn in November 2015 from the U.S.A., before importing the car to England in December 2015 with the assistance of CARS UK, and 0482 was registered as TTU 939H with the DVLA in the UK. In July 2016, Prill Porsche Classics were commissioned to undertake service and improvement work on 0482 for the current owner. A full engine service, gearbox oil change, brake and suspension inspection were carried out. Further to this, new wheel bearings and gear selector bushes were fitted and a wheel geometry set-up was done.

Over the 2016 summer, 0482 was enjoyed on pleasant days by the current owner, with particular joy being had in doing the school run - a proper driver’s car, with four seater flexibility.

This matching numbers, original colour combination, original upholstery 1970 Porsche 911T Targa is a 4 owners from new, California car with Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, and just 85,000 miles on the odometer. 0482 is accompanied by the original Porsche wallet, Porsche owner’s manual, Porsche maintenance records, Porsche letters, Porsche colour chart, Blaupunkt radio instructions, toolkit and jack. 0482 offers the wonderful opportunity to rediscover the love of driving, in what is a very usable and iconic sports car.
