JibbingThis style of grinding
derived from skateboard, jibbing is a freestyle
snowboarding technique of riding on any surface other
than snow. This can be anything from rails to trees. This is a trick style that is meant for the park but has been adapted into a more urban setting as riders try
to ride more and more objects that weren't
intended for a snowboard, like our friend to the left.
The snowboarding industry is a profitable one and this graphic
illustrates the breakdown of companys with their share of the
sport.
Freestyle Riding
Freestyle riding is one of the more technically difficult types which consists largely of terrain park riding which is anything from jumps to rails to different snow obstacles that only the most skilled should attempt to do tricks off of. This is where most of the Olympic snowboarding competitions are from.
While there is all of this new trick oriented riding you can not forget about the true feeling of riding through waves of powder up to your waist!
