(Running Time: 166 minutes) Clint Eastwood directs and stars in this drama about an angry wid- ower drawn slowly into a new world. The film is something of a medita- tion on men and violence, and the consequences of such violence, as well as a fascinating summation and perhaps refutation of much of Clint Eastwood’s career. It is also the first mainstream Hollywood film to fea- ture the Hmong community. East- wood’s performance, both as actor and director, is remarkably sensitive and multi-faceted, and the perfor- mances by the mostly nonprofessional Hmong cast are excellent. A beautiful story to enjoy as entertainment, but also a provocative work of art. The mystery increases when Alex receives an e-mail showing Margot older and alive. The movie is for general viewing and is subtitled in English.
