Shell and Spatial Structures:
New Materials and Technologies, New Designs and Innovations
- A Sustainable Approach to Architectural and Structural Design -
ORGANIZED BY:
-International Association for Shell and SpatialStructures, IASS
-Faculty of Architecture at the NationalAutonomous University of Mexico, UNAM
-Faculty of Engineering, UNAM
-Institute of Engineering, UNAM
-Mexican Society of Structural Engineering,SMIE
-Technological Institute of Higher Studies ofMonterrey, Campus of Mexico City, ITESM
-Metropolitan Autonomous University, Campus
of Azcapotzalco, UAM.
OBJECTIVES
The symposium offers a unique opportunity to
debate some updated topics in the field of shell
and spatial structures, in order to enhance their
availability towards high performances and a
sustainable architectural and structural design. To
that end, it is important to present and discuss
recently done works that show us new materials
and technologies and subsequently new designs
and innovations. Our challenge is the correctapplication of the natural resources looking for
equilibrium among the economic, social, cultural
and environmental development, always bearing
in mind that the people, their necessities and their
welfare are our main concern.
