Dear Parishioners and Friends of Our Lady of
Guadalupe,
Normally, our City would be filled with tourists
for Mardi Gras. This year is certainly different for
all of us. My prayer is that this pandemic will soon
be behind us and we can resume the many
activities that we are so used to in New Orleans.
However, it is a time to reflect on what is most
important in our life. One thing that we are
assured of is that God is with us. He doesn’t
change. He promised to walk with us during the
dark valleys of our life. His promise is for real.
As we reflect on our Gospel, we see how Jesus
continues His healing ministry. He heals Peter’s
mother-in-law and all those who were in need of
healing. We turn to Him today to ask for our own
personal healing.
In the Gospel, Simon tells Him: “Everyone is
looking for You!” Today, each of us are looking for
the Lord. We gather each Sunday looking for His
mercy and healing. What are you looking for
today? What are you asking the Lord for as you
begin each day?
May each of us turn to Jesus and be aware that
He is there to touch us with His strength. May the
Lord bless all of us as we turn to Him daily.
Have a Blessed Week,
Fr. Tony

We especially remember Sal Cannatella whose funeral was on Friday. Sal who was known as the “Fruit Man” as he sold fruit in front of Jesuit High School He was so instrumental in his fund-raiser each year to benefit the St. Jude Community Center. He was truly a blessing to all of us. May he rest in peace.
Please keep Deacon Rudy and
Jackie Blanchard in your prayers.
Fasting and Abstaining during Lent we abstain from meat on Ash Wednesday and all Fridays during Lent (this is for those 14 to 59 years of age). We all Abstain from meat on all Fridays and Ash Wednesday. Why? This is to remind us that Jesus sacrificed everything for us…..what can I do to make a sacrifice on these days?
