Engagement of 1 (one) System Engineer, 1 (one) Office Assistant and 1 (one) Attendant

(Trade) on purely temporary basis (on contract) to be posted at the Kolkata PoP Centre of

ERNET India at Variable Energy Cyclotron Centre (VECC), Kolkata

It is proposed to engage manpower as detailed below for the Kolkata PoP Centre of ERNET India at Variable Energy Cyclotron Centre (VECC), Kolkata on purely temporary basis

(on contract), initially for a period of one year. ERNET India is an autonomous society of

Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Communication & Information Technology,Government of India.

by 9:00 A. M. positively on 1st November, 2011 (Tuesday), alongwithduly filled-in application form in the format appended below, one passport

size photograph duly affixed and duly signed across the photograph by the

candidate, attested copies of the testimonials regarding date of birth,

qualifications, experience, caste issued by the competent authority in the prescribed format, “No Objection Certificate” from the present employer

(if applicable), etc. Candidates should also bring originals of all the said

documents and a valid Photo Identity Card (viz. Voter’s Identity Card or Driving License or Personal Passport or Identity Card issued by their

respective institution etc.), for verification, failing which they shall not be

allowed to appear for the interview. Candidates reporting after 9:00

A. M. on 01/11/2011 will not be considered under any circumstances.

Note:

1. The appointment is purely contractual and will not confer any right on the candidate to

claim for regular appointment in ERNET India or in any other unit of Department of

Information Technology, Ministry of Communication & Information Technology or inVECC or in any constituent unit of the Department of Atomic Energy or for continued

contractual appointment.

2. Persons working under the Central/ State Govt./ Public Sector Undertakings should submit

their applications through proper channel. They may, however, send an advance copy of

the application along with enclosures as detailed above to the address given below, which

should reach before the prescribed last date.

3. SC/ ST candidates called for interview and are not employed in Central/ State

Government/ Public Sector Undertaking/ Corporation/ Local Government/ Panchayats etc.

will be paid Travelling Allowance as per the extant rule, subject to production of Ticket/

Tickets. If concessional tickets are available reimbursement will be limited to the

concessional fare only.

4. The candidates selected for the post will have to work in round-the-clock shifts and on

weekends.



5. Efforts will be made to complete the interview of all the candidates for the post of System

Engineer on the scheduled date itself i.e. 01/11/2011 (Tuesday), However, if it becomes

impracticable to complete the interview of all the candidates on the said date, remaining

candidates would be interviewed on the next day i.e. 02/11/2011 (Wednesday). Candidates

aspiring for the post of System Engineer are, therefore, required to come prepared

accordingly.

6. During the validity of contract, the System Engineer/ Office Assistant/ Attendant (Trade)

will be at liberty to terminate the contract for betterment of his/ her career or for any other

ground by giving prior notice of 15 days to VECC. In the same manner, the contract can

be terminated by VECC by giving prior notice of 15 days to the System Engineer/ Office

Assistant/ Attendant (Trade), without assigning any reason whatsoever.

7. In case the response is high, VECC reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates

to be called for interview for the post of Office Assistant/ Attendant (Trade) based on

more numbers of years of experience or higher percentage of marks in the requisite

qualification or both. The decision of VECC will be final and binding in this regard.

8. VECC reserves the right to fill up all the posts or alter the number of posts or even to

cancel the whole process of engagement, without assigning any reason thereof.

9. Period of experience as prescribed in the advertisement will be determined with reference

to 23rd September, 2011 [ for Office Assistant/Attendant (Trade)] and 1st November 2011

[ for System Engineer].

10.Candidates having academic/technical/professional qualifications other than the

qualifications prescribed for the 3 (three) posts are disqualified and hence need not apply.
