As a cooperating organization, CHARISM’s responsibilities and the way CHARISM interactswith partnering Rotarians within the Fargo-Moorhead PM Literacy Project are listed below:

1) We will increase the development of entrepreneur skills in ELL children who attend our summerand after-school programs.

a. Entrepreneur skills will be developed from reading and comprehending Andy andElmer’s Apple Dumpling Adventure picture books, and we will work with Rotarians toprovide opportunities within the community to practice entrepreneurship skills—making t-shirts, apple dumplings, and planting apple trees.

b. The Four-Way Test will be taught to students as a guide to sales, production, andadvertising.

2) We will increase the development of social skills in ELL children who attend our summer andafter-school programs.

a. Social skills will be developed from reading and comprehending Andy and Elmer’s AppleDumpling Adventure picture books, and we will work with Rotarians to provideopportunities for children to practice ethical behavior.

b. The Four-Way Test will be taught to students as a guide to ethical and moral behavior.

3) We will increase the development of literacy skills in ELL children who attend our summer andafter-school programs.

a. Literacy skills will be developed from reading and comprehending Andy and Elmer’sApple Dumpling Adventure picture books and completing the coloring activity booksthat coincide with the picture books.

4) CHARISM will own any equipment provided by Rotarians and will maintain, operate, and secureitems purchased with the grant funds.

5) CHARISM will work together with Rotarians, Kriss Burns and Holly Anderson, to provide learningopportunities (within the program and community) to children in order for them to developentrepreneur, social, and literacy skills.

6) CHARISM will provide time for Rotarians to volunteer on a regular basis in order to help educateand implement the lessons learned through the Andy and Elmer picture book.

CHARISM agrees to cooperate with Rotary Club Fargo-Moorhead PM in completing andpartnering with the Fargo-Moorhead PM Literacy Project.
