It imparts a smooth lustre and finish tomoulded articles and improves resistance to moisture and heat.Properties of Coconut Shell Powder It is shown sandy in colour.Its moisture content is less than 2%.It is normally adulterated with wood flour.Uses and Applications: It is used as a filler in the plasticindustry and in the manufacture of synthetic resin as a bulkingagent and as a pigment. The oily exudation from the shellsobtained by heating is used as paint for wood and iron. Thebriquette made of coconut shell powder finds its application ascompressed fuel.Market Survey : India is the third largest coconut growingcountry in the world.
