Global Entrepreneurship Congress (GEC) & GEC+ Taipei

The Global Entrepreneurship Congress (GEC) is a major international startup event with participants from over 170 countries. GEC+ is focused on regional cross-border cooperation and specific innovative issues and solutions. It facilitates cooperation between countries in the region and drives development of the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

This year, Taiwan is hosting GEC+ Taipei which will be held in the Taipei International Convention Center (TICC) from September 27-29, 2018. GEC+Taipei will be held during the Taiwan Innotech Expo, the largest technology trade show in Asia.

The theme of the event is "Enabling Social Impact with AI + IoT." This year’s event will focus on the use of smart technology applications to accelerate innovation, the digital transformation of startups and SMEs, and on the sustainable development of the global digital economy.

This event provides a stage for exchange between startups in Asia. It encourages entrepreneurs to participate in competitions to find business partners, venture capital, and expansion through international channels, as well as to interact and engage in exchanges with venture capital and buyers from all over the world.

9/29 – Linkou Startup Terrace Site Tour

Startup Terrace is SMEA, MOEA’s initiative to repurpose the 2017 Taipei Summer Universiade Athlete’s Village and transform it into an international startup campus called Startup Terrace. On this tour you will learn about the resources and technology you can utilize around Startup Terrace. SMEA offers startup incentives of up to NT $20 million and assists foreigners in completing visa applications and opening bank accounts. We will also delve into Smart City Solution, the Smart Taipei Main Station initiative spearheaded by Askey Computer and the Taipei City Government.

TICC Technology Express Expo

The Technology Express Expo is presented by the Artificial Intelligence for Intelligent Manufacturing Systems Research Center, the Artificial Intelligence Biomedical Research Center, the National Association of Small & Medium Enterprise, HiMirror, XYZprinting, Baboarms and Acupass. There will be a wide variety of exhibits, from AI in manufacturing, to biomedical applications, all the way to the beauty industry. The point is to show that AI-enabled automation has a wide range of applications beyond the factory floor. Such everyday exhibits will include “bubble tea,” smart backpacks made from recycled PET bottles, a smart stereo that turns ordinary headphones into a home theater, as well as the world's first full-color FFF 3D printer and much, much more. This Expo lets us take a peek into the future to see how technology can enrich our daily lives.

9/27 - 9/29 – Taiwan Innotech Expo 2018

The TAIWAN INNOTECH EXPO (TIE) focuses on the innovative technologies of Taiwan’s 5+2 Industrial Transformation Plan. There are three major themes, showcasing the latest interdisciplinary innovations: Future Technology, Sustainability, and Innovative Inventions, all of which demonstrate the results of recent scientific and technological investments. These new breakthroughs have the potential to transform Taiwan into a major international technology trading hub. Over 40 overseas companies and institutions from Asia, Australia, Europe and North America have been invited to demonstrate their latest technologies and are encouraged to do business here. Linking Taiwan’s local industries to major global institutions, fostering deeper relationships with partners, stimulating opportunities for cooperation, and encouraging partners to make the most of Taiwan's technological advantages are the goals of TIE.

IP Strategy & Innovation Summit The INTERNATIONAL IP STRATEGY AND CROSS-INDUSTRY INNOVATION SUMMIT 2018 is organized to facilitate cross-border technology trade activities and to encourage the creation and utilization of intellectual property, in order to generate the best returns.
