Content:
Anticipated problems: Planned solutions
(lexical, grammar, pronunciation, discourse, sociolinguistic / intercultural)
Play a memory game for helping students remembering irregular verbs in past participle.
To provide varied communicative and meaningful exercises for them to practice the structures in a meaningful way, e.g. talk about personal experiences.
Teacher can prepare the verb used in this game and play it as a game in class. Teachers divides the class into 4 groups of 10 students. T divides the board into 4 columns. Teacher says a verb, and a representative of each team runs to the board and writes the verb in their column. At the end, the team that has the most correct answers, wins.
Students might not remember the past participle of irregular verbs.
Students might find it hard to combine complex grammar forms while focusing on meaning.
The school might not have the Internet connection.

Sociolinguistic/Intercultural:

Time and Interaction
To help students remember irregular past participle verbs in class.
Students (SS) will be divided into four groups. They will be asked to give each group a name. They will play a game online named the Rocketman http://www.letshavefunwithenglish.com/games/irregular_verbs/past_participles/index.htmlIt will be projected on the board. The purpose of the game is to write the past participle of some given verbs. The faster and more accurately each group writes the answers, the further the Rocket man will fly. Each group will choose a student to write the answer. The group which its Rocketman flies the farthest will be the winner. 10 minutes.

Teaher (T) asks SS to work in groups of 4. T gives Ss a copy of a worksheet previously designed for the class (Worksheet 1). T asks SS to answer the questions given in exercise 1. (Pre-listening)
1. Do you share private information online?2. Do you think it is a safe practice?
T asks them to answer these questions in their groups, agree on the answers and then select one student from the group to socialize what they agreed. Then each group share their answers with the rest of the groups. After this, Ss watch a video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1gragSmxXhY (II. While-Listening)SS continue to exercise A (Worksheet 1).A. Decide if the following statements are True or False.
1. Dinie is a Youtuber. __T__2. Information Dinie knows about people is taken from their families. _F__3. Vignes has a sister. __T__4. Vignes’ mother was born on March 14th. __T__5. Nurul is 18 years old. _T___
If it is necessary, T plays the video again .When Ss answer the questions, each group reports the answers to the class. (III. Post- listening)Ss will continue working on the worksheet 1.In groups, SS answer these questions according to what they watch in the video (Post-listening A).
a. How did the girl know that much about these young people? b. What information did they share on Facebook? c. Which are the three tips the girl provides?
In exercise Post-listening B, Students will match regrets (third conditional sentences divided into main clause and if clause about sharing information online) about the people on the video. T walks around the classroom to check students work and gives feedback then he/she will ask for a volunteer to write the sentences on the board.

To make students deduce how to make third conditional sentences and understand the target language.
T asks Ss whether these situations are real or hypothetical. T writes the word REGRETS on the board and tells them that regrets are feelings of sorrow, unhappiness, or guilt for a fault or wrong act. Then T asks them to think about it. Ss express what they think.
T tells Ss that this kind of sentences is called third conditionals and that they are used to express regrets or outcomes of hypothetical situations. (if necessary, T provides an example of what a hypothetical outcome is in their mother tongue)T tells Ss they will answer the questions based on the video. This is a noticing exercise where SS should make conclusions about the third conditional. In groups, Ss answer the following questions: 1.The statement “If Vingesh had known it was dangerous, he wouldn’t have shared his personal information on the net” expresses regret about: a. The past b. the present c the future
2.When we refer to the condition, after the auxiliary “Had”, we use: a.verbs in past. b. verbs in present c. verbs in past participle.
3.In the main clause, after “would have…”, we use: a.verbs in past participle. b.verbs in present c. verbs in past.
4. Some examples of regrets are: a. I shouldn’t have posted this. b. I should post this. c. I wouldn’t have done it. d. I would do it.
T asks Ss to check the structure of the third conditional by completing the blank spaces. This will be written on the board and will also be in exercise 4 (Worksheet 1)

Ss continue working in the same groups of 4 students on exercise 6 (worksheet 1). Ss receive a situation about a bad experience. These are the situations.Situation 1‘Karen is 15 years old. She sent some compromising photos to a person she barely knew on Facebook. Now she realized this person had a fake profile and is asking her money for not sharing the photos with her friends and parents.Situation 2“Sofia accepted that her boyfriend Nicolas takes photos of her naked, but she thought he would never share them with anybody. He wanted to be popular among his friends and sent them messages with the photos. Now Sophia is very sad because the photos have become viral.Situation 3Sebastian a 10th grade student has lost interest in studying because he spends most of his time playing games online. He makes bets and has become addict to it. He failed the school year and his parents are mad at him.Situation 4John is a young professional but is addict to social networks. He has lost three jobs in the last year. He became inefficient because he spends his time updating his Facebook profile, gossiping and keeping in touch with his friends.Situation 5Katherine is 16 years old. She started gossiping about Claudia, a girl in her classroom. Katherine didn’t like her classmate very much. As time passed, Katherine made up more mean gossips about Claudia. One day, Claudia went to the coordination office and accused Katherine because the other students treated her very badly because of Katherine’s gossip. Katherine was expelled from the school. In groups, Ss write two regrets about the situation they are assigned. T provides examples from the video.
T walks around to help students and check their sentences. While Ss are working, T creates 5 columns on the board or 5 places on the classroom walls for SS to share their sentences on post-its or papers.
When all the groups have the sentences completed, SS walk around and look at the examples. T asks Ss to pay attention to form and meaning. Ss take notes.
