What is BIODIVERSITY ?
• The wide variety of organisms on earth.
• ‘Bio’ = living things
• ‘Diversity’ = variety
• ‘BIODIVERSITY’ means variety of life

CLASSIFICATION OF ANIMALS
AMPHIBIANS
Eg: Toad, Frog, Salamander
AMPHIBIANS
• Cold blooded animals• Can live both on land and in water• Have external fertilisation• Young amphibians live in water
(breath through their gills)• Adult amphibians (breath with lungs
on the land and through skin when in water)

Eg: Goldfish, Porcupine fish

• Have fins and tails (to swim)• Absorbed dissolved oxygen through
gills• Lay eggs that fertilised outside the
