Control Freak?‘Their loyalty is divided between God and the world...’ James 1:8 NLT

Ever been called a control freak? Some people aren’t happy unless they have everything under their control and that’s not what God wants. If you’ve

got a tendency to try to control situations or people just to get your own way, there’s something wrong. Ever noticed that the more you try to control, the more anxiety you feel?

TheBiblesays,‘...themindoftheflesh[whichissenseandreasonwithouttheHolySpirit]isdeath...Butthemindofthe[Holy]Spiritislifeandpeace...’(Romans 8:6 AMP) It can be tempting to trust your own understanding of things, and take things from there, but God sometimes has different plans. God says, ‘My thoughts and My ways are not like yours.’ (Isaiah 55:8 CEV)

Let the Holy Spirit bring you in line. He may have other plans.

While it’s true that God wants us to engage our brains, He also wants us to ‘live by faith and not by sight’. Want everything signed, sealed, delivered? Learn to be comfortable with the unknown and you can bathe in God’s pools of peace. Jesus said: ‘Don’t worry about tomorrow. It will take care of itself.’ (Matthew 6:34 CEV)

Health & WellbeingscHOOL WOrk & eXercIseHomework, assignments and study for exams can be stressful so it is important to take some time out and exercise. One of the benefits of exercise is that it increases the blood flow to the brain resulting in clarity of thought.Exercise also releases feel good hormones called endorphins that make you feel:• Less stressed• Relaxed• Happy• Positive• Re-invigorated• Bright• Less tension in the mind and bodyThe Australian Department of Health and Aging recommend that teenagers between the ages of 12 & 18 participate in at least 60 minutes of exercise per day. This may be any activity that makes you “huff and puff”.Exercise should be fun and enjoyable. Find some time out to indulge in some exercise such as walking the dog, swimming, surfing, gym or playing sport because it will make you feel fresh and revived, ready to get back into schoolwork again. For more information visit: http://www.health.gov.au/internet/main/publishing.nsf/content/health-pubhlth-strateg-phys-act-guidelines#rec_12_18
