Upon reflection, my short notes have never been without giving credit to our most prized partners: the volunteers. This year is no different. Partnerships- be it with individuals, corporations, or organizations- are always at the core of our work as we truly rely on their time, kindness, generosity and expertise. This year, we humbly welcome lecturers from Atma Jaya University in helping us deliver our Soft Skills Program as well as the English for Confidence Program.
What a journey it has been, as we gear up for an even more turbulent, uncertain, challenging, yet exciting future. Only one thing I can offer as a certainty, that within every uncertainty, we will always look to our vision, mission, and passion as guardians of the marginalized community as our guiding light. Thank you for all the support and trust of all parties involved for our every achievements this year.
Dear Friends, Partners and Supporters
How time flies, as we approach 17 years of serving our target beneficiaries in the marginalized community!
2019 highlights a monumental crossroads for Bulir Padi Foundation, as it strengthens and streamlines its strategy into the 3 Pillars of: Academic Excellence, Skilled Education and Access to Job Opportunities. With that, we are also ensuring that we align ourselves to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals or better known as the SDGs. The SDGs are certainly a lofty goal. For a small, grass-root organization like ours, more than anything, its alignment marks a reminder that we contribute and are a part of a much bigger cause.
2019 was when we started “the work” - taking baby steps into implementing the improved Strategy. With the focus, determination and hard work, I can proudly say that we have positively progressed into an exciting chapter. The highlight of this year was expanding our operations to achieve a scale we never imagined to achieve in one year by partnering with Plan International Indonesia on its Wired4Work Program. As one of its implementing partners, we have been given the privilege of providing access to skilled education and job opportunities to 400 underprivileged youths in marginalized areas of the city. As we start the planning and work at the end of 2019, we look forward to successfully carrying it through into 2020.
