A high priority will be given for facilities: Affected by significant natural events (floods, etc.) Newly registered or licensed providers to meet licensing requirements Licensing compliance such as balance of funds needed for full year of insurance, egress windows, play equipment, etc. Professional development, particularly courses taken in preparation to meet STAR One requirements and to assist with year one professional development plans, etc. Practitioner registry fees for caregiver not in STARS Business equipment such as a computer to manage CACFP claims and customer billing To assist in continual quality improvement or to meet additional requirements, including CACFP best practices It is a reasonable expectation that purchases including shipping and handling are covered as part of the awarded funds. Mini grants are not to be used for programs formally enrolled in STARS and receiving incentives, since STARS incentives can be used for like purposes. Mini grants are available in a single grant award for a total not to exceed $2,000 for a group/family provider and $3,000 for a center provider. Providers must be in business for the duration of the grant or will refund the Early Childhood Services Bureau in full. A provider is eligible to receive another mini grant only after an existing grant period (one year) comes to an end. They must wait until their previous grant end date passes until they are eligible to apply again. Mini grant applications are available at the Butte 4-C’s. Review of applications will begin October 17, 2016. Please submit mini grant applications to the Butte 4-C’s office.

Welcome new STARS to Quality providers!

Butte 4-C's welcomes Janet Fjeseth, Kasie Baker, Lynn Piazzola, and Kelley Rauch to the STARS program! A celebration dinner was held on

September 16th to thank and honor all of our STARS to Quality providers. The Early Childhood Services Bureau issued a STARS to Quality

Challenge this summer. They wanted to increase the number of providers in the STARS program. Butte 4-C's Professional Development

Specialists and our current STARS providers met the challenge and we added four new programs! Congratulations to all of our STARS

providers!

CPR and First Aid Offered Monthly

Butte 4-C's will be offering CPR and First Aid on a monthly basis. Kelan Broadhead, an American Heart Association Instructor, will teach the courses one Saturday each month from

8:00 am to 1:30 pm at the Butte 4-C's. The cost is $40.00 per person and must be paid by the Monday before the class. There are no exceptions to this deadline. If you do not pre-pay

for the class by Monday you will not be able to attend. The upcoming classes are on:

Saturday, October 29th (fee is due by 10/24/16) Saturday, November 12, 2016 (fee is due by 11/7/16) Saturday, December 10, 2016 (fee is due by 12/5/16)

Pyramid Model :Module 2

Pyramid Model Module 2 will cover strategies to support social and emotional development for children birth to age 5. This class will cover creating supportive

environments for children through careful observation, emotional literacy, friendship skills, problem solving and emotion regulation.

This class was originally scheduled for Nov. 15th and 17th. The dates and time have been changed to the following:

Wednesday October 26th Thursday November 17th Tuesday December 13th

Prerequisite: Intro to the Pyramid Model and Pyramid Model Module 1

Time: 6 p.m.-8:00pm must attend all sessions to receive credit

Cost: Free

Registration deadline October 20 , 2016
