Target: Displacement of the traffic from road to rail

Condition for a economic freight traffic: Consolidation of freight streams

Measures: 1. Integration of regional grown structures into the

overall concept

2. Integration of regional aligned spatial planning in supra-regional network

Organisational target:

One face to theOne face to the customercustomer

Ziel:Quantum jump at the displacement from road to rail

- by the consideration of all rail affine amounts of goods in the net

- as well as „mixed“ trains with conventional wagon load traffic containers,

trailers or semi-trailer, which can be craned

Procedure :1. Integration of the political decision makers

2. Technical Implementation is secured by interdisciplinary

competence

AlpFRailAlpFRail

Page 21: 1 transport & logistic 2005, Munich Project AlpFRail.

21

Realization of the political targets of the European spatial

planning concept (EUREK) and of the „Alpine Convention“ for

sustainable transport solutions by:

Securing of the operability of the traffic corridor in the alpine space

promotion of efficient and sustainable traffic systems, that means

utilisation, improvement, creation of new interfaces of the different traffic

systems (integrated intermodal solutions)

Avoiding of new road buildings in the alpine space

Minimisation of environmental impacts (emission of carbon dioxid, noise,

catastrophes in alpine tunnels)

Sustainment and improvement of important soft and hard location factors

Connection with regional development

Ecological project targetsEcological project targets

Page 22: 1 transport & logistic 2005, Munich Project AlpFRail.

22

Step 4

step 1-3

1. All regional political decision makers at one table

2. Combined inventory of all regional plans

3. Identification of overlaps and additions

Result: trans regional harmonised concepts

4. Communication of these separate harmonised concepts to international partners

Result: Identification PAIRED traffic streams

Overcoming of the regional orientated spatial planning
