• The accident at the Three Mile Island Nuclear plant in Pennsylvania in 1979 occurred 12 days after the release of the movie X.

• The movie featured Jane Fonda as a news anchor at a California television station. In the film, a major nuclear plant crisis takes place while Fonda's character and her cameraman (Michael Douglas) are at the plant producing a series on nuclear power. She proceeds to raise awareness of how unsafe the plant is.

• Coincidentally, there is a scene in which Fonda's character speaks with a nuclear safety expert, who says that a meltdown could render an area "the size of Pennsylvania permanently uninhabitable."

• Also, the fictional near-accident in the movie stems from plant operators overestimating the amount of water within the core, exactly what happened in the Three Mile Island disaster.

• After the release of the film, Fonda began lobbying against nuclear power.

• The term China syndrome (loss-of-coolant accident) describes a fictional nuclear reactor operations accident characterized by the severe meltdown of the core components of the reactor, which then burn through the containment vessel and the housing building, then notionally through the crust and body of the Earth until reaching the other side, which in the US is popularly believed to be China.

• The misperception is that China is the antipode of the US.

• Moreover, the hypothetical transit of a meltdown product to the other side of the Earth ignores the fact that the Earth's gravity tends to pull all masses towards its center.

• Assuming a meltdown product could persist in a mobile molten form for long enough to reach the center of the Earth; gravity would prevent it continuing to the other side.

• Y - Chitin

• Keratin refers to a family of fibrous structural proteins.

• Keratin is the key of structural material making up the outer layer of human skin.

• It is also the key structural component of hair and nails. Keratin monomers assemble into bundles to form intermediate filaments, which are tough and insoluble and form strong unmineralized tissues found in reptiles, birds, amphibians, and mammals.

• Chitin is a long-chain polymer of a N-acetylglucosamine, a derivative of glucose, and is found in many places throughout the natural world.

• A binding agent such as gelatin or, more commonly, shellac may also be added, to make the Y more durable once dried.

• Ethylene glycol (IUPAC name: ethane-1,2-diol) is an organic compound that is toxic, and ingestion can result in death.

• In its pure form, it is an odorless, colorless, syrupy, sweet-tasting liquid.

• It is used as raw material in the production of polyester fibers, mainly PET, which accounts for 40% of its total consumption.

• Minor uses of ethylene glycol include :• the manufacture of capacitors, • as an additive to prevent corrosion in liquid cooling systems for personal computers,• in the manufacture of some vaccines, • as a minor (1–2%) ingredient in shoe polish and also in some inks and dyes,• as a rot and fungal treatment for wood, both as a preventative and a treatment,• as a minor ingredient in screen cleaning solutions, along with the main ingredient

isopropyl alcohol,• as a preservative for biological specimens, especially in secondary schools during

dissection as a safer alternative to formaldehyde.

• But what is the major end use of ethylene glycol which accounts for over 50% of its commercial use ?

• As an antifreeze !

• Pure ethylene glycol has a specific heat capacity about one half that of water. So, while providing freeze protection and an increased boiling point, ethylene glycol lowers the specific heat capacity of water mixtures relative to pure water.

• The major use of ethylene glycol is as a medium for convective heat transfer in, for example, automobiles and liquid cooled computers.

• Ethylene glycol is also commonly used in chilled water air conditioning systems that place either the chiller or air handlers outside, or systems that must cool below the freezing temperature of water.

• It consisted of 1679 binary digits, approximately 210 bytes, transmitted at a frequency of 2380 MHz and modulated by shifting the frequency by 10 Hz, with a power of 1000 kW.

• The "ones" and "zeros" were transmitted by frequency shifting at the rate of 10 bits per second. The total broadcast was less than three minutes.

• The cardinality of 1679 was chosen because it is a semiprime (the product of two prime numbers), to be arranged rectangularly as 73 rows by 23 columns.

• The alternative arrangement, 23 rows by 73 columns, produces jumbled nonsense.• It forms the image shown or its inverse, when translated into graphics characters and
