C o n f l i c t s t h a t do occur r e s u l t f rom schedu l ing dec i s i ons made by o t h e r d i v i s i o n s even though D i - v i s i o n 28 i s cosponsoring t h e c o n f l i c t - i n g events.
Two events o f spec ia l s i g n i f i c a n c e f o r members o f t h e D i v i s i o n a re t h e business meet ing a t 4:00 on onday, September 3, and the j o i n t Soc ia l Hour w i t h D i v i s i o n s 3 and 6 on Monday a t 6:00. The business meet ing has been p o o r l y a t tended i n r e - c e n t years and many impo r tan t p o l i c y de- c i s i o n s a f f e c t i n g t he long-range i n t e r - es t s o f t he D i v i s i o n have f a l l e n t o t h e r e s p o n s i b i l i t y o f those few compr is ing a quorum. The e l e c t i o n o f o f f i c e r s , one i tern on the agenda o f t he business meet- i n g , i s an event o f some importance t o a l l members and i t behooves everyone t o be p resen t and c a s t a vote.
