MISSION and HISTORYNamaskaar Foundation was founded in 1988with a mission to support, preserve and raiseawareness and appreciation for the traditionalperforming arts and culture from India andaround the world. We partner with local andinternational organizations to provide a uniqueand distinctive blend of world-class traditionalperforming arts and multi-ethnocentriceducational programs.

CULTURAL IMMERSION We promote the dynamic exchange of diversecultural heritages by exposing new audiences tomusic, dance and theater from around theworld. Our World on Stage programs nurtureand satisfy curiosity about the origins of worldculture, helping people celebrate wonderfuldifferences through the unifying arts of music,dance and theater.

Over the years, more than 50,000 people haveparticipated in more than 200 music, danceand theater productions featuring traditionalartists from Africa, Bulgaria, Burundi, China,Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, Hungary, India,Indonesia, Ireland, Japan, Korea, Mexico,Mongolia, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Poland,Russia, Spain, Uganda and Ukraine.

COMMUNITY OUTREACHNamaskaar keeps pace withdemographic shifts and cultural trendsin Connecticut and in WestchesterCounty, New York. As our communityhas grown in both size and diversity,we have expanded and strengthenedour celebrations of many diversecultures. By engaging with ouraudiences, local businesses, schools,art groups and communityorganizations, we have grown into anetwork that reaches more than85,000 Indians, Latinos, Europeansand Asians.

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMSWe work with our artists to providepre- and post-performance MasterClasses and outreach programs tolocal schools and youth developmentorganizations. Our artists presenttraditional and non-traditionalperformances and educational eventsrarely found in commercial venues oracademic programs. These enrichinglocal educational opportunities nurturepassion for and foster careers andhobbies in the arts.

REASONABLE COSTWe strive to ensure that everyone in our community can accessauthentic, high quality cultural events by keeping our performanceticket costs low. We also distribute free tickets to students, theelderly and members of underserved populations.
