Youth Media Project currently serves youth through workshops, intensives and partnerships with Northern New Mexico educational institutions and youth organizing programs. We train young professionals, as Project Leaders, to design and facilitate media programs with our educational partners. Populations we serve include Native, Hispanic, and Anglo students; immigrants; high school drop-outs; special needs - gifted and challenged; young people involved in the juvenile justice system; international students; and students seeking job skill development and work experience. Students learn to reflect on their own lives, seeing themselves within the fabric of a social, political and environmental context, and to use this awareness to gain confidence and to solidify self-identity.
