Research at DMU At DMU, we have an ambitious Research Strategy which aims to make research central to our mission as a university. As a university committed to the public good, we have a track record of research that impacts society and makes a real difference to people’s lives through improvements to health and well-being, infrastructure, creativity, economic growth, business and civil society. Our commitment to research is integral to our aim to develop our students as critical thinkers.It was recognised that our research “fed into the curriculum through a focus on application to real-world settings and research-led work placements”. As the United Nations’ (UN) designated Global Hub for Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6 - the only UK university to be designated as such - we have a commitment to address the UN SDGs in our research, teaching and enterprise activity.

DMU at Dubai Expo 2020 (to be held from October 2021)The British Government is involving higher education for the first time in the UK Pavilion and DMU has been named as an official founding partner. As DMU is an official founding partner the university will:

Internships, Careers and Placement DMU Dubai careers department aims to assist the University students and graduates to make informed career choices by providing a professional, high quality careers guidance and information service for students and recent graduates of the university. DMU Dubai will work closely with employers and academic schools to support students by developing the skills they need to maximize their employability. This will include a number of sector-specific careers fairs and insight events, organized at DMU Dubai Campus throughout the academic year. The aim of these events will be to make students aware of the work experience, internships and permanent positions available. We also encourage earlier years to attend such events as a useful way to develop their understanding of industry.

Student CouncilThe Student Council at DMU Dubai will include an elected Student President, Academic School Representatives, School Officers and Individual Class Representatives. Student Representatives for non-academic services such as extra-curricular activities, sports, social clubs and events coordination will also be included.
