    Takes place from 2nd to 4th December 2010 at The Sevensgrounds. The event will be celebrating its 41st year in 2010.

    The Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens is the first round of

    the eight-leg International Rugby Board Sevens World Series

    with the next rounds taking place in South Africa, New Zealand,

    USA, Hong Kong, Australia, England and Scotland.

    World Offshore Powerboat Championships Dubai Grand Prix December 2010

    Combining the glamour, power and spectacle of intense

    competition, the UIM Class 1 World Offshore Powerboat

    Championship races, take place over two days in December.Top teams from around the world compete in this glamorous

    Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon January 2011

    Dubai's Standard Chartered Marathon follows a clockwise

    circuit of the city, encompassing many major landmarks.

    The start and finish are at the World Trade Centre.

    The course is flat and fast, with the only slight incline at the

    traverse of the Dubai Creek. Here, runners take the Shindagha

    Tunnel under the Creek, exiting at the Gold Souq of Deira.

    The route continues in the Garhoud area of the city, crossing

    the Creek once again, this time via the Al-Garhoud Bridge.

    This is the steepest point on the course, then it's an easy run

    to the finish line.

    A 10 kilometres run and a 3 kilometres fun run are organised

    alongside the main marathon.

    ATP Dubai Tennis Championship February 2011

    The Dubai Tennis Championship is a professional tennis

    tournament held in Dubai Tennis Stadium. This US$ 1

    million championship attracts many of the world's top male

    and female players to the city's impressive Tennis Stadium.

    The tournament incorporates both the Men's ATP Tour and

    Women's WTA Tour events and features both singles and

    doubles competitions.

    Omega Dubai Desert Classic - February 2011

    The Omega Dubai Desert Classic is held at the Emirates Golf

    Club, the first grass golf course in the Middle East. Its lushfairways are in stark contrast to the surrounding desert terrain,

    which provides the course with many natural hazards.

    The PGA European Tour and i ts American counterpart, the PGA

    Tour, are the richest and most celebrated golfing competitions in

    the world.

    For the European stars on the Tour there is more at stake than

    pure financial reward: the top 10 players are automatically

    selected for the European Team to play against the US in the

    Ryder Cup.

    Dubai World Cup 26th March 2011The Dubai World Cup at the Meydan Racecourse is the

    richest horse race meeting in the world, worth a staggering

    US$25 million.

    The programme consists of eight races, including the mile-and-

    a-quarter group-one race for four year-olds and above, offering

    an incredible US$10 million prize fund, and the US$5 million

    Dubai Duty Free. It is no surprise that the best horses, jockeys

    and trainers make the annual trip to the UAE.

    Thoroughbred racing traces its roots back to the Middle East and

    its homecoming could not be grander. The magnificent Meydan

    Racecourse is a 60,000 capacity landmark stadium incorporating

    a luxurious hotel and six haute cuisine restaurants.

    Dubai Football Sevens March 2011Join AC Milan, Arsenal, Olympiacos and other professional

    clubs, along with 3,000 players and 300 amateur teams, at

    7he Sevens for the Dubai Football Sevens.

    This festival of football brings together a massive cross-section

    of athletes, with Rush, Steve McManaman, Michael Thomas

    and a host of other stars lined up to play on the same pitches

    as eight-year-old wannabe footballers.

    In addition to seeing the stars in action, there are competitions

    for various age groups and an amateur tournament, drawing

    both men and women players.

    UAE Desert Challenge March & April 2011

    The UAE Desert Challenge in Dubai is a rally across some of

    the most dramatic and demanding terrain. Drivers from all over

    the world race their cars, trucks and motorbikes on a thrilling

    journey through the desert.

    The event begins with a ceremonial start in Abu Dhabi and

    heads south into the desert. The race is based at the Moreeb

    Hill Bivouac, close to the Liwa Oasis, and special stages stretch

    out into the legendary Rub Al Khali or Empty Quarter,

    a perfect name for one of the largest sand deserts in the world.

    Dress code

    The United Arab Emirates is an Islamic country and clothingshould be modest. In the hot and humid summer months light

    cotton garments are ideal. During the winter months, whenthe seasonal average is a pleasant 24C, light sweaters arerecommended. Beachwear is acceptable at beach clubs, hotelsand public beaches. During the day, the dress code is fairlycasual, although more exclusive restaurants and clubs mayexpect guests to dress more formally during the evening.

    Language

    Arabic is the national language of the United Arab Emiratesbut English is widely spoken and understood. The majority ofinformation signs are in both languages.

    Currency and exchange

    The monetary unit of the United Arab Emirates is the Dirham(AED), divided into 100 fils. Exchange rate: US$1 = AED 3.65.

    Food and drinks

    Most hotels offer local specialities, as well as an eclectic mix ofcuisine. Even though the UAE is a Muslim country, alcohol isserved at many licensed hotel restaurants, bars and nightclubs.Restaurants outside hotels do not serve alcohol. Tap wateris safe to use, although bottled water is recommendedfor personal consumption.

    The Holy Month of Ramadan, based on lunar observation, willbegin during the second week of August in 2010. During thisperiod eating, drinking and smoking in public areas and thesale of alcohol during daylight hours is strictly prohibited.

    Climate

    Dubai has a subtropical, arid climate with sunny blue skiesmost of the year. Rainfall is infrequent and irregular, mainlyin winter. Temperatures range from minimum 27C (81F) tomaximum 45C (106F) from June to September and minimum14C (57F) to maximum 37C (99F) from October to May.

    All customers travelling to the United Arab Emirates require

    entry visas and must be in possession of a valid passport. Nationals of the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) states

    and 33 other countries will have their visas issued on arrival.

    Please check with your travel agent or Emirates office for

    eligibility.

    96-hour single entry visas for all Emirates Dubai Stopovers

    customers may be arranged at a charge of US$62 per

    person.

    96-hour multiple entry visas (for a maximum of four entries)

    are now also available.

    For customers stopping over in Dubai for more than

    96 hours, visas may be arranged at a charge of US$76

    per person. A minimum of three working days' notice prior to arrival is

    required for all visa applications to be processed.

    An emergency visa fee of US$110 per person applies for all

    requests received less than one week prior to arrival.

    Dubai City Tour

    A fascinating historical excursion. Our route takes us from

    Burj Al Arab; Dubai's landmark hotel to the Majlis Al Ghorfat,a magnificent structure constructed in 1955 and recently

    restored, originally the summer residence of the late Sheikh

    Rashid bin Saeed Al-Maktoum. Driving past modern palaces

    we stop at Jumeirah Mosque for a photo opportunity. Next

    our route takes us towards Dubai's Bastakiya area to admire

    the old-wind-towered houses which were built by wealthy

    merchants, passing the magnificent Zabeel Palace on the way.

    Close by stands Al Fahidi Fort, a 200 year-old structure that

    houses the Dubai Museum and records the city's past as an

    important pearl diving and trading centre. We continue the

    journey on a traditional Abra. We cross Dubai Creek, offering

    sights of a modern metropolis on its banks with splendidarchitecture dwarfing the bustling alleys of our next destination

    - the Gold and Spice Souks.

    Abu Dhabi City Tour*

    Starting from Dubai, we travel past the world's largest man-

    made port at Jebel Ali and onward for a two hour drive alonga coastal desert road lined with acacia trees, to Abu Dhabi,

    the capital of the United Arab Emirates. Here you will see

    modern interpretations of Arabian architecture in the many

    skyscrapers, villas and palaces that line our route along the

    Riviera-style Corniche. A new addition is the majestic Sheikh

    Zayed Mosque, the third largest in the world, named after

    Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the first President of the

    United Arab Emirates. We stop here for a photo opportunity of

    this Islamic architectural masterpiece. We then visit the Sheikh

    Zayed Museum and the Heritage Village where souks, an old

    fishing village and bedouin tents have been replicated to give

    you a feel of traditional life in Abu Dhabi. After lunch, we driveby the iconic Emirates Palace Hotel. On our way back to Dubai

    driving past the upcoming developments on the Saadiyat and

    Yas Islands and stop at the Yas Hotel, which houses the Yas

    Mountain Safari to Wadi Hatta*

    We drive along a motorway cutting a swathe through the rolling

    desert and its changing hues. Then the real adventure beginsas we turn into the Hajar Mountains where canyons line our

    route. We follow the trails of the wadis and stop for an alfresco

    picnic lunch in one of the wadis. After lunch we drive on to the

    Hatta Heritage village to visit the restored fort converted to a

    museum which provides fascinating historical insight of the

    area. We then commence our return journey to Dubai.

    *During summer, from 1st June to 31st August, we stop for lunch at a hotel, the price

    of which is not included in the tour price. Tourists joining this safari must carry their

    original passports for border checks. Tourists whose passports are retained by their

    hotels should carry a receipt that is provided to them by the hotel upon retention of

    passport.

    Al Ain Tour*

    A charming desert oasis that has been a stop on the caravan

    trail since time immemorial. Today Al Ain has become a gardencity which also boasts a university. The road from Dubai takes

    us through spectacular desert scenery. We stop at Hili Gardens

    to view archaeological digs at Hili, which date back some 5,000

    years and drive past Jahili Fort where various exhibitions are

    often hosted. Today, Al Ain has become a garden city which

    also boasts a university.

    Proceeding to Al Ain Palace Museum, an old fortress which

    was the residence of the late ruler Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan

    Al Nahyan from 1927 until the early 1970s, we can view

    interesting displays, including a collection of family portraits

    that offer an insight into the way the royal family lived andentertained. We reach Al Ain's National Museum after which

    we take a short walk through an oasis with the ancient falaj

    irrigation system. After lunch, we stop at a traditional camel

    market on our return journey to Dubai.

    Images of Arabia - Cultural Walking Tourthrough Sharjah and Ajman*

    This fascinating tour of two of the countrys Northern Emiratesbegins at an ancient fort that today houses Ajman Museum.

    This quaint eighteenth century fort originally served as the

    Rulers palace and office until 1970, when it became the

    main police station. After browsing through an interesting

    collection of archaeological artifacts, manuscripts, old weapons

    and reconstructions of traditional life, we stop for a photo

    opportunity at A Magfirah Mosque, the largest mosque in

    Sharjah, built to honour King Faisal of Saudi Arabia, who was

    responsible for subsidising the development of Sharjah before

    the discovery of oil.

    From here we continue our journey on foot through Sharjahscolourful fish and vegetable markets before we proceed to the

    famed Blue Souk, where more than 600 shops sell carpets,

    gold, silver, antiques, perfumes, garments and much more. Our

    next stop takes us to Al Arsah Souk, one of the countrys few

    remaining traditional marketplaces. We also visit the 165-year-

    old Al Naboodah House, which vividly recreates the lifestyle

    of a wealthy pearl trading family; Al Hisn Fort, the former

    residence of the Al Qassimi Ruling family, built in 1820 housing

    priceless objects, fascinating old photographs, classic weapons

    and trading tools tracing 200 years of Sharjahs history. Browse

    through the old souk area, part of Sharjahs original settlement,61 62

    Tour of Sharjah and Ajman*

    This fascinating tour takes you to the two emirates of Sharjah

    and Ajman. Ajman's enchanting museum, housed in an ancientfort, earlier the residence of the ruler of Sharjah, will give you

    intriguing insights into lifestyles prior to the discovery of oil. We

    pass the King Faisal Mosque and Al Ittihad Monument, both

    While returning we will stop at the creek for an opportunity

    All meals and soft drinks are included in our safaris unless

    otherwise stated. Please refer to the descriptions for details.

    The safari vehicles are long-wheelbase four-wheel drives,

    which are fitted with safety belts and air-conditioning andlicensed to carry up to six passengers, excluding the driver.

    By law, passengers must wear seat belts while the vehicle is

    in motion.

    Many of the vehicles are equipped with telephones to

    provide a constant link with other vehicles in the party as

    well as the safari base.

    We recommend that passengers read the safety card held

    by their safari driver/guide in the vehicle before proceeding

    on the safari tours.

    The safaris involve off-road driving through rugged countrywhich adds to the excitement. However, because of the

    adventurous nature of the journeys and the rough terrains

    covered, passengers should not participate if their health

    or any pre-existing medical conditions (including heart

    ailments or back problems) may be adversely affected.

    For this reason, we regret that we are unable to accept

    expectant mothers, passengers with back conditions and

    passengers under six years or over 65 years of age.

    Passengers are reminded that photography of military and

    some government installations is prohibited. With respect to

    local customs, always ask before taking pictures of Emiratis

    and do not take photographs of ladies dressed in traditionalattire.

    Operating schedules and the routes of some of our tours

    she is mentally and physically capable of participating in theparticular tour, safari or activity chosen. The passenger must

    comply with the instructions of any tour, safari or other

    activity leader. If in the opinion of that leader, the

    passengers behaviour or physical condition is detrimental to

    the safety, welfare and well-being of the group as a whole,

    or if the leader considers that the passengers general well-

    being will be put at risk by continuing with the tour, safari or

    other activity, the passenger may be asked to leave the

    tour, safari or other activity without the right to any refund.

    All personal effects are at the sole risk of the passenger at

    all times during the tour or safari. The purchase of a tour or

    safari shall be deemed as consent to and acceptance of the

    Car rental.Terms and conditions

    BUDGET Rent-a-car in Dubai is the preferred car hire

    company. Cars should be reserved by group category only. Budget

    Rent-a-car reserves the right to substitute equivalent carswhen the reserved car is unavailable.

    Drivers are required to produce their original passport as a

    form of identification. Drivers visiting or transiting through the UAE must be in

    possession of both their original national license of their owncountry plus an international license.

    For rental in Dubai only, visitors from the below countries

    are allowed to drive in the United Arab Emirates with theirvalid national driving license: UK, USA, France, Japan,Belgium, Holland, Switzerland, Denmark, Germany, Italy,Sweden, Greece, Austria, Ireland, Spain, Norway, Turkey,

    Canada, Poland, Korea, Finland, South Africa, Australia,New Zealand and Romania. Visitors from Korea, Japan, Turkey and Greece are requested

    to have a translation of their license approved by the councilor embassy.

    A signed credit card imprint will be taken at the start of all

    rentals for security reasons, even when the cost of the rentalis covered by a voucher. This imprint may be used to coverany additional charges not covered by the voucher, such asfuel, rental period extension, accident or damage charges,toll road crossing (SALIK) and traffic fines.

    Minimum age for groups A-E is 21 years.

    All rentals include unlimited mileage. Fuel is not included.

    UAE SALIK fees/charges are not included. At the time of

    hiring, the rent-a-car will provide information regardingthe toll system and applicable charges, which the passengeris responsible for paying locally to the car hire company.

    Additional drivers are charged at AED 30/US$9 per rental.

    All vehicles have a full tank of fuel at check-out. Vehicles

    should be returned full or fuel charges will be charged at theend of the rental as per the rent-a-car firm fuel rates.

    SALIK (road toll system) is applicable in Dubai. The cost is

    AED 5 per crossing. Toll fees are calculated on return of thevehicle. This is a government charge.

    A customer notice form should be signed by the renter who

    will be given a copy of the same. A traffic violation administration fee of AED 35 or US$10 per

    traffic violation is applicable wherever violations have beenincurred.

    Baby seats suitable for ages 6 to 24 months are available at

    AED 75 / approx US$21 per seat per rental.

    A GPS navigation system is available upon request at

    the charge of AED 50 or US$15 per day. Insurance covers use in United Arab Emirates only, unless

    prior agreement is given by car rental company. Vehicles are covered by fully-comprehensive insurance as

    per United Arab Emirates laws. However, a police reportmust be obtained at the time of an accident or in the caseof damage. If the renter fails to produce a valid policereport to car rental firm, all charges incurred will be theresponsibility of the passenger, even if CDW has been taken.No replacement vehicle will be supplied and rental chargeswill continue until a police report is received along with anyother relevant documents.

    In case of an accident and/or damage, the client is required

    to pay excess liability if CDW is not taken. A valid police

    report is also required. In the event of theft of a rented vehicle, the police must be

    notified immediately, otherwise cover would be rendered void. Punctures, tyre damage, wheel caps, aerials and windscreen

    are not covered by insurance even after paying CDW, unlessthe damage is caused as the result of an accident. A policereport is required as per contract.

    Off-road driving renders the insurance invalid even after

    paying CDW. Loss or damages to personal items are not covered under

    the terms of the insurance. At the time of hiring, the renter should contact the car rental

    Private car transfers

    For a supplement, private car transfers* can be requested with

    all hotel bookings. For a quotation, please contact your local

    Emirates office. Seat-in-coach transfer for the following is not

    available, therefore a private car transfer must be booked:

    customers in wheel chairs

    customers arriving at Terminal 2, Dubai International Airport

    customers embarking or disembarking from cruise ships

    docking in Dubai

    This information must be communicated at the time of booking.

    *Please note that the hotel rates for Al Maha Desert Resort & Spa, Jumeirah Bab Al

    Baggage

    Each person is allowed two pieces of luggage one suitcase

    and one piece of hand baggage for coach transfers.

    Alternative arrangements will be made for customers arriving

    All local taxes and service charges

    Any change in such fees and charges and/or additional fees or taxes

    introduced by local authorities will be added as and when implemented

    Please note that the airfare must have already been paid for in full before you

    purchase items from a Dubai Stopovers package. Dubai Stopovers do not

    include the cost of any item not specifically listed above, such as visas, flights,

    excursions, tours, etc.

    Please note that private car transfers need to be booked separately for arrivals at

    Terminal 2, Dubai International Airport.

    Hotel accommodation

    Apart from select hotels with a 24-hour check-in/check-out facility, the check-in

    time is 1500 and check-out time is 1200. Hotels reserve the right to charge for

    periods when the room is occupied before the normal check-in time or after the

    normal check-out time. For your comfort, we therefore recommend that when

    purchasing the number of nights you intend to stay, you consider whether this

    covers your early arrival or your late check-out, neither of which is covered by

    the price quoted in the brochure.

    Kindly note, it is normal practice for hotels in Dubai to request for a credit card

    guarantee or deposit at check-in. The deposit is refundable at the time of check-out. However, if something is consumed from the mini bar or restaurant (apart

    from breakfast), the cost will be deducted from the deposit.

    The hotel will provide a sofa/rollaway bed in a double/twin room for a third adult.

    Please note that due to construction work in and around beach/city properties,

    you may experience some disturbance. We regret any inconvenience caused.Restrictions

    Dubai Stopovers are offered to individual passengers travelling

    with Emirates to, from or via Dubai. To qualify for the benefits of a Dubai

    Stopovers package, travel on at least one sector (either into or out of Dubai)

    must be on Emirates.

    A Dubai Stopovers booking must be made at least 48 hours prior to your

    departure for Dubai and full payment must be made at the time of booking.

    Dubai Stopovers cannot be utilised by groups of more than 10 persons travelling

    together.

    A Dubai Stopovers package has to be utilised immediately upon arrival and thestay mustbe continuous. Please check with your local Emirates representative

    regarding eligibility criteria.

    A maximum of seven nights can be booked with the Dubai Stopovers

    programme.

    Visas

    Clear, colour passport copies (to be scanned and forwarded by e-mail) are

    required to process all types of visa, irrespective of nationality.

    Please note that the processing time for UAE visas does not include

    Friday and Saturday as they are the official weekend of the UAE.

    Booking terms& conditions.

    Your contract

    These booking terms and conditions govern your booking. Where Emirates

    books a hotel or other ground service in its capacity as agent of the relevant third

    party supplier, your contract for that accommodation or service will be subject to

    the supplier's terms and conditions which could limit or exclude liability to you.

    No contract will come into existence until we accept your request for a booking

    and receive full payment in cleared funds.

    When you submit your request for a booking, you guarantee that you have the

    authority to accept (and do accept) these conditions on behalf of yourself and

    all persons covered by your booking. It is your responsibility to ensure that any

    information given to you in connection with this booking by us, or any third party

    supplier, is passed on to everyone on whose behalf you are making, or have

    made, the booking. If you are making a booking for more than one person, you

    are responsible for all payments due from every person for whom that booking is

    made. All the featured hotels and services are subject to availability.

    All prices featured on emirates.com are:
