Frequency domain fatigue damage estimation of offshore wind turbinesupport structures

    Lszl rany3niversity of 0ristol

!ro"ect ob"ecti#es and goalsThe pro#ect aims at developing a fast fatigue estimation method for the support structures of offshore indturbines to assist integrated design of the rotor-nacelle assembly" the toer" the substructure and thefoundation. $n the field of ind energy converter systems the preferred choice of detailed fatigue design istime domain analysis. The operational states of the ind turbine are simulated in the time domain and themoments at the substructure level are calculated from this analysis. The time history of loads on the supportstructure is then analysed by some cycle counting method . and 0radford" .A.
