Standardized data model as the basis for an optimized process.Requirements for an efficient development process (II).
Requirements:
• providing an overall vehicle view
• adequate data supply to support all development partners at any time, the outcome of this enhances the data quality in all
• a single data format has to be used. • result is higher data quality • generating a delta-view of different datasets is
possible

Standardized data model as the basis for an optimized Process.Today's process: disadvantages.
Disadvantages:
• an overall vehicle view can not be generated easily, a data-set includes only one geometric (or logic) section
• data customers can not be supplied with a necessary overall vehicle view at different, user-defined moments
• consequence if different data formats are used: • risk for data of inferior quality• delta-view of different datasets can not be generated

Standardized data model as the basis for an optimized Process. How can we get the process optimized?
• Define AP212 data model (KBL) as the only standard interface for data exchange in electrical system development (to harness maker, EMC, energy-network, service,…)
• one consistent data model in development process
• manipulation, formatting or conversion of the data model is not necessary
• data model can be generated at different, user-defined moments for all data customers
• delta-view of different datasets can be generated
-> KBL is one key to generate overall vehicle data model

Standardized data model as the basis for an optimized process.Conclusion.
KBL as the only standard interface for data exchange in electrical system development is one key to generate overall vehicle data model.
It allows a slighter development process, a reduction in hardware validation and at least it will increase electrical system quality of vehicles in the near future.
