This is to notify the public of the issuance by the North Carolina Hazardous Waste Section of a draft Post-Closure Renewal Per-mit for Radiator Specialty Company facility, located at 600 Radiator Road in In-dian Trail, North Carolina. A Public Hearing will be held Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at 1:30 PM in the Town Hall at 100 Navajo Trail in Indian Trail, North Carolina. All attendees will have the opportunity to present five (5) minute oral statements regarding the draft renewal permit and/or to submit written comments and data.In conjunction with the is-suance of the draft renewal permit, written comments can also be sent during the public comment period of March 21, 2010 – May 5, 2010 to the following ad-dress:

Call (919) 508-8564 for an appointment.A summary of the renewal permit follows: On September 23, 1996 the state issued Radiator Specialty a RCRA post-clo-sure permit for manage-ment of hazardous waste residues at two closed for-mer surface impoundments at the site. Radiator Spe-cialty has submitted a re-newal application to contin-ue post-closure care of the closed surface impound-ments. The renewal permit details requirements for the continued post-closure care activities associated with the two, onsite closed surface impoundments. Specifically, post-closure care activities include the continued maintenance and operation of the reme-diation system and the an-nual sampling and analysis of groundwater monitoring wells. In addition, Radiator Specialty is conducting groundwater monitoring and remediation activities for groundwater contami-nated as the result of waste management activi-ties at on-site Solid Waste Management Units (SWMUs). The renewal permit contains require-ments for performing the groundwater monitoring and remediation activities for these SWMUs.All comments received dur-ing the public comment pe-riod or at the hearing will be considered in the deci-sion regarding this renewal permit. Comments re-ceived after the public com-ment period ends will not be considered. The statuto-
