NEW CHURCH SOUND SYSTEM

The new sound system is mostly operational at

this point. There are a few items to be worked

on. It is a state of the art system that, with

proper care, will last for many years. The cost

was $ 53,000.00.

1º SUNDAY OF ADVENT

A liturgical division of time does not coincide with the civil calendar. In the Christian-

Catholic liturgy, the year begins with the first Sunday of Advent. We enter cycle C. The liturgy this

year will nourish itself with the narrative of the evangelist Luke. Luke did not know Jesus directly.

He converted to Christianity, then became Paul's companion in his pastoral journeys. Being a doc-

tor by profession, he has a very elegant style of writing and shows a certain sensitivity with the

poor, the sinners, the marginalized. In addition, the Gospel is composed of 24 chapters, he then

writes the books of the Acts of the Apostles with 28 chapters.

Some characteristics of Lucas:

Universal Salvation: Luke understands that the Salvation of God through the death and resur-

rection of Jesus is not only for the people of Israel, but for all people and nations.

Merciful Father: Put the merciful face of God at the center of his gospel. In chapter 15 he nar-

rates several parables of Jesus that speak of the mercy of the Father.

Sense of justice: For Luke, God does justice to the poor and oppressed. "The hungry he has

filled with good things; the rich he has sent away empty”. Lk 1,53.

Continuity of the History of Salvation: The early church continues the path of Jesus, the way of

salvation. That is why he writes the book of the Acts of the Apostles.

Mary: The figure of the Mother of Jesus gains relevance in Luke. It is the evangelist who most

speaks of Mary. It relates the annunciation, the visit to his cousin Elizabeth, the Magnificat, and

1º DOMINGO DO ADVENTO - CICLO C

A divisão litúrgica do tempo não coincide com o calendário civil. Na liturgia cristã-católica,

o ano começa com o primeiro domingo do advento. Entramos no ciclo C. A liturgia nesse ano vai

se nutrir com a narrativa do evangelista Lucas. Lucas não conheceu diretamente Jesus. Convertido

ao cristianismo, tornou-se depois companheiro de Paulo em suas viagens pastorais. Sendo médico

de profissão, tem um estilo muito elegante de escrever e deixa transparecer uma certa sensibili-

dade com os doentes, os pobres, os pecadores, os marginalizados. Além do Evangelho dividido

em 24 capítulos, escreve depois o livros dos Atos dos Apóstolos, com 28 capítulos.

Algumas características de Lucas:

Salvação Universal: Lucas entende que a Salvação de Deus, através da morte e ressureição de

Jesus não é só para o povo de Israel, mas para todos os povos e nações.

Pai Misericordioso: Coloca no centro do seu evangelho o rosto misericordioso de Deus. No ca-

pítulo 15 narra várias parábolas de Jesus que falam da misericórdia do Pai.

Sentido da justiça: Para Lucas, Deus faz justiça aos pobres e oprimidos. "Sacia de bens os fa-
