Seven arrested as gardaí probe fraudulent motor claims SEVEN people were released overnight following their arrests yesterday morning in relation to fraudulent motor insurance injury claims. The seven, four women and three men, were detained yesterday morning as part of a garda investigation called Operation Nascar. Two of the arrests took place in the Midlands while the remaining five took place in the north Cork garda division. They are part of an ongoing investigation into suspected organised fraudulent motor insurance injury claims. A garda spokesman said: “These detentions are phase two of an ongoing garda investigation and the arrests were made as part of a coordinated strategy by the gardaí. Previous arrests were made last month in Limerick and Cork.” A file on the matter is now to be sent to the DPP.
