1.1/ BACKGROUND

Prospectiva began in 1977 to undertake Engineering Studies and Projects. The business began work in the field of Urban Water Supplies before rapidly expanding into other market segments: Environment, Water resour-ces, Treatment of Drinking Water and Sewerage, Buildin-gs, Transport, Means of Communication, Infrastructure, etc..

In 1988 Prospectiva started to work in the Project Mana-gement, Coordination and Supervision of Construction Contracts areas. Subsequently, other areas of activity were added: Coordination of Health and Safety, Environ-mental Management and Professional Training.

Currently Prospectiva is an engineering consulting company with over 35 years experience, with approxi-mately 100 professionals and a turnover of € 5 million. Is present in several countries, particularly Algeria, Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Equatorial Guinea, Conakry Guinea, Mozambique, Morocco and Sao Tome and Principe.

/02 QUALITY, ENVIRONMENT AND SAFETY

Prospectiva, SA headquartered in Lisbon, has intro-duced an Organisation Management System which is certified by the SGS – ICS in accordance with NP EN ISO 9001:2008 (Quality), NP EN ISO 14001:2004 (Environment) and OHSAS 18001 (Safety).

The system is applied in all work carried on by the com-pany. The scope of the certification extends to the Pro-vision of Services in all Fields of (i) Studies, Projects and Project Management, (ii) Coordination, Supervision and the Quality Management of Contracts and (iii) the Coor-dination of Health and Safety at Work in Portugal.

The Quality of the work carried out and the services su-pplied to customers is assured by the fulfilment of the methodologies and procedures implemented under the system which has been extensively tested with outstan-ding success.

Prospectiva, SA is accredited by the Laboratório Nacio-nal de Engenharia Civil (LNEC) (National Civil Enginee-

ring Laboratory) as a General Quality control Manager for Construction contracts such as provided for under Decree Law 310/90. The company is qualified in three fields: (i) Buildings and Monuments, (ii) Means of Com-munication and Urban Development; and (iii) Water Ma-nagement.

The company also has National Industrial Safety Creden-tials, Confidential level / NATO Personal Safety Creden-tials in SECRETO, NATO SECRET and SECRET U.E. levels which were granted by the GABINETE NACIONAL DE SEGURANÇA (National Safety Office).

Prospectiva, SA have a SME Leader Award (Best Small and medium sized enterprises) in 2012, an initiative of IAPMEI. Prospectiva, SA, already had an Excellence SME Award in 2010 and a SME Leader Award in 2009. This is another distinction that makes us very proud and reflects all the effort and investment that has been made by the company in order to become a consulting reference in national and international markets.
