This game is good because it improves and assesses reading fluency. Not only does it challenge the students to read quickly, but it helps them to test their comprehension. There are lots of different options and levels to choose from. It’s kind of hard to use, but the levels are really diverse and so it lends itself easily to differentiation.

Pronunciation Power 1 & 2Review/Reaction/Screen Shot:

This is a program for English language learners to practice pronunciation. They can hear the words and practice saying them.

ESL RenegadesReview/Reaction/Screen Shot: This is a fun game where students can correct grammar in sentences. I like that it makes the grammar correcting kind of fun, even if it is a little bit cheesy. It also helps because it gives explanations to why the student is right or wrong.

This program is a nice online review tool where students can quiz themselves on grammar tenses. It will give fun situations and they have to fill in the right tense, and then they get immediate feedback.

This Pearson software helps students with their writing by helping them practice different parts of grammar writing. After they practice with a quiz the program corrects their work, and they can read the explanation and keep trying till they get it right.

Some of the games you have to download, but there are fun little quizzes about different systems. I played one about the digestives system. These would be useful if a student has extra time for science, or to show students to practice for a test.

2. App name: _____Learn Elementary Sight Words___________Review/Reaction/Screen Shot:

This app is really easy to use and it has fun illustrations. It’s useful to help students go through lists of words and practice reading them till they become sight words. Then they can hear the word. It’s not really a fun game though.

3. App name: _____PBS kids Play___________Review/Reaction/Screen Shot:This app is pretty much only useful for kindergarteners, but it has lots of different games that do different things like practice matching, patterns, numbers and letters. This screen shot is of a sorting game. I think this might be kind of useful and fun, but I wouldn’t really use it in the classroom.

4. App name: ____Science Games____________Review/Reaction/Screen Shot:This app has games that could teach science vocabulary and concepts. This game is to learn about how clinics work. There are also a lot of other more useful games, but I couldn’t figure out how to use a lot of them. If I knew how to use them I would use them in the classroom.
