· The Pittsburgh Riverhounds (6-15-5) travel to North Carolina to face the Charlotte Independence (13-7-6) for the second and final time this season. Last meeting saw Charlotte prevail 3-0 against Pittsburgh at Highmark Stadium. Pittsburgh is 0-3-1 all-time against the Independence, last winning in Charlotte in August of 2014 when the club was the Eagles.

· The Hounds are currently are on a three-match unbeaten streak (2-0-1) – their best stretch since ending last season unbeaten in their last five (2-0-3). With the seven-point push, the club has kept their slim playoff hopes alive, currently nine points out of the eighth-seed in the East, while also holding at least a game in hand on each team from No. 8 through No. 12 in the conference.

· Strong performances on both sides of the pitch have marked the late push, as the Hounds have recorded double-digit shot totals in five of their last six matches and outshot their opponents in three-straight matches – the latter good for a 34-to-20 advantage. Pittsburgh is 5-4-2 when holding the shot advantage.

· Corey Hertzog continues his push for the Golden Boot, as he currently sits fifth in the race at 12 goals – three behind leader Jack McBean of Los Angeles. Meanwhile, newcomer Chevaughn Walsh picked up a goal in his first USL start last weekend and adds to the array of goal-scorers for the Hounds over the past five matches (3-1-1) – six players in total (Hertzog, Walsh, Kevin Kerr, Nick Thompson, Willie Hunt and Sergio Campbell).
