Safe Speed Monitor SIL 3 / PLe

DescriptionThe speed monitor from Pepperl+Fuchs fulfills allsafety requirements up to SIL3 /PLe and allows theimplementation of safety functions while keeping con-ventional drive technology. An additional failsafePLC, other safety relays, or a second sensor are notrequired.The system has a modular design. The simplest ver-sion consists of a compact safety control, a speedmonitor module, and a safe sine/cosine rotary enco-der. The functions "safe stop" and "safe speed" formonitoring the drive shaft(s) are available via two safeoutputs. Previous knowledge of PLC programming isnot required because parameterization is intuitive.Configurations stored on a memory card allow theuser to change programs or transfer data to otherhardware in the blink of an eye, for example, when re-placing defective components. The speed monitorcan even be linked to a higher-level fieldbus such asPROFINET or PROFIBUS-DP, etc., using gateways ifrequired. The monitor is equipped with four safe in-puts and can be upgraded to a maximum of 40 axes.The monitor for a second axis is already integrated inthe basic device.
