Dear Sara: Uslck called when I was out to say that issues of Pravda

1919-1936, daal1ng '•'- i th ann1 versary articles on the founding or the Red Army were needed imrnedia telyin Coyoacan. I did not see the letter so I do not know whether I can take any liberties, such as copying out only important passag~s, etc. etc. The truth is that each anniversary issue has many more than one leading article on the ~ed Army. ~or ex., the yr. 1922: I am enclosing 12 pages of articles by Toteky, Smirnov, Papernikov,Ventaov, all appearing on Feb,~23rd, Ther,e do not include all the articles in that issue on Pravda • Those listed below I do not intend to copy unless I hear that you wish them. And even those listed do not include greetings to Red Army, poems,etc, You can use your imagination to see how much work would ba involvetl. in getting aU the articles through 1936 if I am to work alone(and I am tne only .. Russian typi~t I know)and if you wiSh the work within 8-10 days. Thoush I have taken off a week from work to do this,still I doubt whether I 1 11 come anywhere neal' the goal unlace I !mow the purpose and thus am given freedom in ci>pying. Please let me know immediately. In the meantime,I will, of course, continue the work. I begur. with yr. 1922 beca.uoe •.the first year, 1919, I'm sending you ., ) a photostat copy tomorrow; the issue from 1920 is mis"ing, and 192' U1i\l had no article, In cases where there is no anniversary articlss, i wonder whether tryino to rind one in a corresponding 1Ssue of Izvest1ya would be as good,

In addition to these articles, you will also find. enclosed an article by Ma.kharadze, that Usick asked me to sand; and one on (and by)~nykidze. The reason I'me sending the latter iS t~-at I recalled t!'tat when the "Old. ilan" wrote ADtiole on Yenukidze he stated

,, that 1t is likely that Yenukidze had dropped out of the movement \p during the· period or reaction; this does not tally with the autobiog~

raphical sketch and if the article is not yet published LD will no doubt be interested in this information.

Have not yet located the Bulletins that Natalia needs to complete her set for binding but am trying to; will let you know later whether there is ·or is not any possibility of securing· t.hem.

Yes, I did note the horrible mistake I had oade 1.n the· ,circular letter 011_the Bulletin and imll'ediately sent out a correction. Am glad to report that I am optimistic on handling 120 copies f,or the simple reason that I have already'sold 90 copies, and we 1v« run short of 1ssuas weeks ago; I could have easily handled 30 more, and don't forget this is JIUffimer and thus no meetings at Vlhich to sell them. Two new new s-o tands. handle the Eulletin now and advertising did the remaining triolt ·to turn the tide toward·· mor~ sales.

Am back to normal, more or less; that is, there is another crisis created in California in my mother having found nut,and my sister .ia about to give birth to a baby, so it may be l11cely that I'll naed to head that way. But, of oourse, ,to send in requests r.or work; I oan do the work almost anywhere. '"bt course, if I have any spa.re moments I also try to find son:e work that. I believe may be useful toLD's present work,

ffi1at's new in Ooyoaoan? And you? I By the way, I work part tim'' for Malamuth and he sometimes

lata me do work ro~ LD on hiS time; so when the prbper occasion arises . he ought to be thanked aocordinsly, Reg11.rds to l.he household.As ever,, * .. ~.ll.1Lt'f!O::IU!I<Or, 11 Jjo::,~.,ck. :1\:.'. r-:•i~'"'O~I-:~· 11 ; J\, ~.··r:::):-~:r,.·, .q::,,:.,_c·~rst !:Oi~Jttt7J,a. 11 ; 1\•
