NetNumen
NetNumen N31 (V4.4.0) is a highly customized, carrier-class andcross-platform network management platform. It is highly scal-able and supports all multiple operating systems. It meets diver-sified requirements of the users.
NetNumen N31 (V4.4.0) provides a powerful management toolto the administrator and supports NMS features such as networkgraphs, network monitoring, and management of multiple devices. It ensures a reliable, secure, and efficient network operation.
In-band Network Management
In-band network management mode provides two channels: Ser-vice channel and network management channel. The service chan-nel is used to transmit service data. The network managementchannel is used to transmit network management information.
In in-band networking mode, the network management informa-tion is transmitted through service channel. ZXDSL 9806H ac-cesses the IP network through uplink interfaces. The NEs in thesame area use a cascade interface. In this way, multiple NEs onlyneed one NE to provide an uplink interface for the network man-agement. The network management system communicates witheach NE through this network management interface.
In in-band network management mode, all NEs' network manage-ment information is sent to Ethernet switch in the NM center. Thenetwork management data flow is: NE > IP network > Ether-net switch > NM server.
In-band networking mode does not need a dedicated network forthe network management. The networking is more flexible andconvenient.
Out-of-band Network Management
In the out-of-band network management mode, ZXDSL 9806H NEscan access to IP network through Ethernet interface. The networkmanagement center also accesses IP network in this way. NEs cancommunicate with the NM system directly.
In the out—of-band network management mode, the networkmanagement data flow is: NE > IP network > NM server.
In the out-of-band networking mode, network management chan-nel is completely independent of the service channel. The networkmanagement information is not affected if the service channel isfaulty. One faulty NE has no any influence on other NEs.
