Background:
Students will write about metamorphic rocks
Objective(s):
SW write about metamorphic rock using the conventions they have learned.

Lesson Sequence: Italics are for teacher notes. State objectives
State to students that they will write about metamorphic rocks.
Students can use the metamorphic worksheet to write their paper. They can also use their observation paper that is on the back of their outline. Show students the outline of the paper, but they have to write complete sentences. Give an example of a topic sentence. Show how they can write, metamorphic rocks are formed and use the paper as an outline for the paper.
Students must write topic and closing sentence.
Students must fill up both sides, but have to write at least 5 facts from the paper.
SW use capitalization, punctuation, and spelling as is grade appropriate.

The students writing about rocks will tell me if they know about metamorphic rocks and the conventions with writing for grade level appropriateness.
