A group of organisms that are able to breed with one another.
Groups of members of the samespecies that inhabit a given area
Different populations livingtogether in one area.
Predator/prey- hunter/hunted
Herbivore/carnivore- plant vs. meat eaters
Autotroph/heterotrpoh- producer/consumerautotroph MAKES ITS OWN FOODheterotroph EATS ITS FOOD
Decomposer- breaks down complex moleculesin dead organisms, recycling them for others
Parasite/Host- Parasites live at the expenseof their hosts
example- tapeworm lives in yourintestines and TAKES your nutrients
Mutualistic- BOTH species benefitexample- wrasses (fish) clean the mouths ofpredators. Wrasses get food, predators get clean teeth.
NO!
Very few things in nature only eat onething. Everything is interconnected,so it is easier to show as a food web.
*Arrows point toward what is eating, not being eaten! (arrows show ENERGY FLOW through ecosystem)
