The USCG Auxiliary• Founded in 1939• One of four components of the Coast

Guard: Active Duty, Reserve, Civilian & Auxiliary

• 31,534 Auxiliarists nationwide (Aug 09)

• Participates in all Coast Guard missions but does not engage in direct Law Enforcement or Military action

Flotilla 76• 56 members (of 259 in the Division)• 80% with significant activity• 3 Surface Facilities (boats) with 3 more in

progress• 1 Aircraft Facility with 2 more in progress

What it takes• Willingness and desire to serve• An investment in uniforms and Flotilla

dues• A sense of humor• No fixed time commitment but it can prove

addictive
