First off! Start a new document in illustrator. Let’s make it a web profile, 800x600.

Now let’s select the pen tool and make a few anchors. Don’t forget to close them together.

Now hold down the pen tool selection and get the convert the anchor tool point and bend the anchors to look more round.

And repeat until you get nice round edges.

Like so. I found it easier to do this first so that I could do this

Now the arm. Back to the pen tool. Just add an anchor to the bare bit of the base between the two bits sticking out.

Now a guitar can’t make much sound without the strings can it.

Looks weird doesn’t it? It’s because we don’t have anything to hold back the strings. Back to the pen tool again! :D

Make sure not to hit the strings and only attach the anchors to the arm.

Oh! And also attach one to the end of the strings so that they have an end point in the base.

Use the hold down the pen tool selection to get the add anchor point tool and attach them close to their starting point.

Usually around there (if you can see)

Now use the direct selection tool to bring those anchors to their new home.

Just throw in a few bits and pieces and you’re done!
