The excursions are on week-ends, and leave early from Southern Cross Station, with lunch in one of the above mentioned towns. I am happy to organise a group excursion for the club if enough members are interested. The Whitehorse Community Support Register is proving to be a great success with over 280 registrants. If you or
anyone you know, are interested in joining this confidential Support Register, which is maintained by volunteers at the Box Hill Police Complex, please contact: Leading Senior Constable Rebecca Millin (Whitehorse Crime prevention Officer) Phone 8892 3385 Email communityregister@gmail.com The Register maintains personal detail, including next of kin and other emergency contacts, together with relevant medical risks and conditions, which can be accessed by police, ambulance, hospital and fire services in cases of emergency. You can also request a volunteer to make a regular phone call to check on your welfare. Going on the register would help to make you feel more secure and possibly give you more confidence to live in your own home, knowing that in the event of an emergency your details are readily available. The Register operates Monday to Friday 10.00am – 12.00 Phone: 8892 3385. All volunteers have had a police check completed. Please see Chris (‘catering manager’) to collect a brochure.

LONG-TERM PARKING: Some people left their car in the long-term parking while away, and someone broke into the car. Using the information on the car's registration in the glove compartment, they drove the car to the people's home in Pebble Beach and robbed it. So I guess if we are going to leave the car in long-term parking, we should NOT leave the registration/insurance cards in it, nor your remote garage door opener. This gives us something to think about with all our new electronic technology.
