Guided Tour of Chinese Museum and Chinatown. The museum will allow you to gain an overview of Chinese- Australian history and culture. "Finding Gold” is an introduction to life on the goldfields in the 1850’s. Discover three generations of Melbourne processional dragons at the Dragon gallery. Learn about Chinese mythology and symbolism, and explore migrant history and stories in the Chinese- Australians gallery. The walking tour of Little Bourke Street explores the oldest continuing Chinatown in the western world. It is an easy walk. Time for museum and Little Bourke Street tours is two hours. For those who wish, we will have lunch afterwards in a chinese restaurant in Little Bourke Street. Date: Tuesday 16 June 2015 Time: 10am to 12 noon, with lunch after the tour finishes at your own cost. Cost: $15 per person for the tour. Meet at the Chinese museum, located at 22 Cohen place, off Little Bourke Street between Russell and Exhibition Streets. The best way to get there is by train: get off at Parliament Station and walk to the museum.

Are You Interested? Steamrail Victoria run a number of day excursions around Victoria, including day trips to Bendigo, Echuca and Maldon. The excursions are on week-ends, and leave early from Southern Cross Station, with lunch in one of the above mentioned towns. I am happy to organise a group excursion for the club if enough members are interested. LONG-TERM PARKING: Some people left their car in the long-term parking while away, and someone broke into the car. Using the information on the car's registration in the glove compartment, they drove the car to the people's home in Pebble Beach and robbed it. So I guess if we are going to leave the car in long-term parking, we should NOT leave the registration/insurance cards in it, nor your remote garage door opener. This gives us something to think about with all our new electronic technology.
