UDS-2-73M-IUDS-2-73M-IIn order to ensure the railway safety the special attention at the enterprise was paid to the development of non-destructive testing means. For this purpose in year 2003, the rail flaw detector UDS2-73 was developed and Is serially produced at that moment.

Currently the following number of rail flaw detectors UDS2-73 is produced and successfully operated:1. Urzaliznytsia State Enterprise (Ukranian Railways):2006 – 2011 – Ultrasonic Rail Flaw detector UDS2-73 (365 units). 2011- 2013 – Ultrasonic Rail Flaw detector UDS2-73MR (212 units).2013 – 2015 – Ultrasonic Rail Flaw detector UDS2-73M-I (126 units). 2. Uzbekistan Railways, Rail Track Department:2012 – Ultrasonic Rail Flaw detector UDS2-73MR (12 units).  3. Omeks Sertifikasyon ve Denetim Ltd. Şti.:2014 – Ultrasonic Rail Flaw detector UDS2-73M-I (2 units).

The 28 channel flaw detector is intended for defects detection in both rails along the whole rail length and cross-section, except for the base blades (Rail Flange area) by means of flaw detection trolley at complete testing with the Speed of up to 4 km/h, as well as for the acceptance testing of separate rails sections and welded joints using manual probes.
