The electrical car

• At first it was the most popular, but at the time a battery did not exist that would allow a car to move with much speed or over a long distance.

The steam car• The steam-driven car lasted into 1920's.• Not only was the price a problem, but the risk of a

boiler explosion also kept the steam engine from becoming popular.

The combustion car

• The combustion engine continually beat out the competition.

In the 1700s, a Frenchman, Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac, sailed to America and found the city of Detroit.

The famous Cadillac is still a very popular car today.

THE ACHIEVEMENTS IN THE PAST

In 1896 Henry Ford built the first American petrol-power car in Detroit. He called it the Quadricycle because it had four bicycle.

He also produced the first cheap car there, the Model T Ford.
