28 miles Sou’ Sou’ West of Land’s End, at the very tip of Britain, lie the Isles of Scilly. This is Gulliver’s Lilliput, home to just over 2000 inhabitants on five main islands with literally hundreds of smaller rocks and Islets. White sandy beaches and crisp ozone fresh air that has been scrubbed clean by 3000 miles of Atlantic Ocean greet the visitor.

The world renowned gardens of Tresco abound with flora from all over the globeand were conceived in the 1830s by a man of vision, Augustus John Smith.

Today the island thrives as a private estate welcoming visitors from all the points of the compass. In fact from all the parts of the world that the gardens plants originate.

The island of Bryher can be described as an island of two halves. The softbeautiful beaches of Green Bay and Rushy Bay are contrasted by therugged granite outcrops of Shipman Head and Hell Bay from where thenext stop is America.

With beautiful long sandy beaches and an historic daymark, St Martin’s stands out as the most north easterly of the five inhabited islands.
