Relationship between organizations objectives and the human resource process

• I will be able to describe the human resource management process.

• I will be able to describe the human resource planning.

• I will be able to explain the relationship between organizations objectives and the human resource process. (e.g. planning, recruitment, selection)

Learning Goals

• Human resource management (HRM)

it is the process of managing people in organizations in a structured and thorough way. It includes the management of people in organizations (from a macro perspective).

4 steps of the human resource process:• Human resource planning (Recruitment,

Selecting, Hiring, Training, Induction, Orientation, Evaluation, Promotion and Layoff).

• Employee remuneration and Benefits Administration

• Performance Management.• Employee Relations.

• Human Resource Planning: Generally, we consider Human Resource Planning as

the process of people forecasting. Right but incomplete! It also involves the processes of Evaluation, Promotion and Layoff.

4 steps of Human Resource Planning:• Recruitment: It aims at attracting applicants that

match a certain Job criteria.• Selection: The next level of filtration. Aims at short

listing candidates who are the nearest match in terms qualifications, expertise and potential for a certain job.

• Hiring: Deciding upon the final candidate who gets the job.

• Training and Development: Those processes that work on an employee onboard for his skills and abilities improvement.

• Employee Remuneration and Benefits Administration:

The process involves deciding on salaries and wages, Incentives, Fringe Benefits and Perquisites etc.

• Performance Management: It is meant to help the organization train,

motivate and reward workers. It is also meant to ensure that the organizational goals are met with efficiency.

• Employee Relations: Employee retention is a hard thing with

organizations especially in industries that are hugely competitive in fact. (Hygiene factor)

• The relationship between an organizations objectives and the human resource process:

1. Human resource process is doing headed by

organizations objectives.

2. Doing a great human resource process should stand on height of strategy to set planning, recruitment and selection, and try to balance the demands and supplies in order to promote the accomplishment of organizations objectives.

3. According to organizations objectives, create and open human resource activities directly and sharply, and formulate concordant human resource process. This mission coordinates and supports organizations objectives, further to complete the objectives.

• Summary: Organizations objectives help to decide the

main ideas of human resource management; the human resource processes help organization to reach high performance.

• Teri Currie was appointed executive vice president, Human Resources, at TD in 2005. In 2009 she took on executive leadership of Corporate and Public Affairs, and in 2010 she charges Marketing and Government and Regulatory Affairs, including Corporate Compliance and TD Economics. In 2011 she took on leadership of the Legal Team and Direct Channels (online, phone and ATMs).
