1.A simple audio callSlack now offers free audio calling! Your admin can enable audio calling in slack (still in Beta).

This is a great way to escalate a project collaboration to a phone call to discuss things in more detail.

2. A Video Conferencing IntegrationSlack makes everyday tasks more efficient for teams around the world!

When you get to the point of needing to meet face to face about a project. What could be better than launching the video call right in Slack?

Launching a video call from slackWe can use the /who command to identify who in the channel is being invited to the video call and the /invite @user command to invite anyone who we also want notified.

Launching a Skype call from slackEvery Slack user has a profile in the “Team Directory”. Each user has the option to display a Skype profile by default. Therefore Slack will auto launch Skype calls for any user in your directory who has this information available.

Launching a google hangout video call from slackSome of our team members also use Slack to launch quick Google Hangouts which is nice because they are automatically "channel" specific. This is great for transparency during meetings.

Launching a zoom video call from slackAnother one of our teams favorite slash commands is launching a Zoom video conferencing call right from slack!

This is ideal when a face to face meeting is going to solve a current thread/issue we are working on.

3. A Google Analytics IntegrationSomeone on your team is managing your website, blog, YouTube channel or other Google Analytics property.

Schedule real time information to populate your relevant channels. Start a “website” channel that has weekly updates created on your latest metrics from analytics!

4. A Competition monitor botOkay. So this one is a little trick that we learned about and started to really love. All you need to do is set up a “twitter bot” to monitor your competition. Start a “competition” channel and monitor various competitors when you find the time.

5. The slackbot himself/herselfThe slackbot may become your best friend. Sending you helpful information about your calendar, information and notifications.

Here are a couple ways you can teach slackbot to serve you best.

1. Personal notepad: everything you send to your slackbot is personal. Files, messages are all searchable later…

2. Automatic responses: I say this slackbot says this…

3. Learning how to use slack. It’s a funny thing but simple talking to your slackbot can teach you ALOT about Slack. Try typing /help to your slackbot and dive deep into the conversations you can have about slack optimization
