2014-2015 United Way of St. Lucie County
Annual Report
To improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of our community.
For more than 50 years, the United Way of St. Lucie County has been an integral part this community’s growth and wellbeing. Our foundation was humble, with the organization taking root to connect those most in need with those who felt a deep desire to give back to the place they called home. Even after a half-century of serving this community, the goals of this organization remain firmly engrained in that simple principle. It’s the core of our mission: to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of our community.
Today, as in years past, we are diligently working with community leaders, business partners, government, nonprofits, faith-based organizations and our community and funded partners to impact as many lives in St. Lucie County as possible. Over the next year, United Way of St. Lucie County plans to continue to draw from the caring power of this county as never before. To do so, we’re working on innovative ways for you to give back to our community by investing in United Way. One way is to be a part of a unique group of compassionate individuals that recognizes the importance of leaving a lasting legacy. By including United Way of St. Lucie County in your will and estate plan, you will join other exceptional individuals providing gifts that will keep on giving beyond your lifetime.

Tocqueville Society
The prestigious Alexis de Tocqueville Society is a philanthropic society honoring individuals who give $10,000 or more to United Way. Society members are individuals who go above and beyond the call of duty and community service. They are compassionate community leaders who recognize the importance of investing today for a better tomorrow. Their commitment to the common good has been uncommon in generosity.
On behalf of the thousands of lives who are touched each year, United Way of St. Lucie County thanks these visionary leaders
for their outstanding support to the 2014-2015 Campaign.

Harbour Ridge Yacht & Country Club United Way of St. Lucie County owes a large amount of gratitude to the residents at Harbour
Ridge Yacht and Country Club. Since their first community-wide fundraising campaign, the
residents of Harbour Ridge have contributed over 2.8 million dollars to the United Ways of
St. Lucie and Martin counties. The community’s first United Way charitable giving drive raised
$59,670. This past year, the community garnered $243,391.65 to further the mission of United
Way. With 55% of the residents giving donations, Harbour Ridge residents have demonstrated
leadership in charitable giving.
We thank those individuals who, over the years, took time to lead the community campaigns.
Those community leaders, along with each and every one of the village volunteers, demonstrate
what it means to LIVE UNITED.
The residents of Harbour Ridge truly mobilize the caring power of their community by sharing
with their neighbors how investing in United Way makes a positive impact on the community
for now and in years to come. Many residents give of their personal time to help their
community, as well as supporting the United Way School Supplies for Students drive.
United Way and the residents of St. Lucie and Martin Counties are grateful to all of those who
have participated and given throughout the years; thank you for your gracious generosity.
Thank you, Mike and Penny
Carr, for your dedication and
leadership over the past 2 years.
