And what it does for the Quinte Region

Justin MedveAngus AgryleNik Karpinski

With indoor swimming pools and swimming classes, the QWC boasts the biggest swimming area in the Quinte Region. They cater to all age groups and skill levels. The youth even have a splash pad. Ramp access to the pools for disabled persons is a great addition.

The indoor walking/running track is great for personal fitness. With three separate speed lanes, anyone can improve their cardiovascular health. There is also an outdoor track, but cold weather is here.

The multi-use gymnasium is another healthy, active opportunity for the community of Quinte to experience. The gym is used for a variety of sports so if you’re into basketball, volleyball or almost anything else you can be sure you’ll find it at the Wellness Centre gymnasium. There is a pull down wall the separates the gym into two sections making it feasible to play more than one sport at any given time.

For the hockey lover, the QWC is a place of paradise. With four rentable ice pads, two of which are NHL sized, it’s the home of Quintearea hockey and the Belleville Bulls!

Everyone in the Quinte Region has access to the Wellness Centre. No matter your background or skill set there is something for everyone here.

The building is also family-friendly and features viewing areas for relaxed people.

The QWC provides our youth with opportunity and recreation ensuring more children make the right decision in their lives.

The Wellness Centre is a great way to meet new people and make new friends. The peak hours are usually on weekends. If you need to enjoy yourself on the weekend this is a great place to be. There’s even a café and courtyard to socialize when not being active or watching sports.

The Wellness Centre runs senior activity classes and meet ups. These give people who aren’t necessarily mobile a chance to get out of the house and meet new people and have a good time without any issues.

Also, the courtyard. In the summer it is an

outdoor sitting area for guests who need

fresh air while eating lunch or taking a break

from a workout.

Heat is re-used throughout the facility. The swimming area is toasty warm as air is filtered from other parts of the QWC.

We got a whopping half hour of audio information from Director Mark Fuhler and Marketing/Customer co-ordinator Tracy

Newton on the Quinte Wellness Centre. Here’s a summarized radio broadcast of how it

benefits this region, making it more culturally, recreationally and economically stable, coupled with a bit of background and future plans for

the facility.
